First hexagram: Will America retaliate after Iran missile attack?

From your query, there is not really a Yong Shen.  What do you (ren) desire with regard to this situation?  Self line represents America/Trump.  Do you desire the well-being of America (since it's your country)?  Or do you desire the victory of America in the war between the two countries?  Or is Trump your Yong Shen, ren?  What was your intention and desire, ren?

Yes, situation appears to be even on both countries.  Self Chou and Others Xu are equally strong, although the US seems stronger because they occupy the Month Branch.  I don't agree with half Metal San He between Chou and You.  If this combination happened, then Self transformed into Metal.  And next:

1) Others Xu would then produce Self, because Earth produces Metal.  That would be a close relationship and similar ideologies between the two countries, while the fact is the two are opposite of each other, and the two parties have been in conflict for decades!

2) The US government (Chou) would be very well supported by its people (You) in this matter.  The fact is the US public does not approve the handling of the Trump administration.

There is some hope of (temporary) peace.  Officer Wu Horse is the Iranian authority.  It changes to Chou, which is the same image as Self line.   And Self line Chou anyway does not change until the Chen Month (Chou --> Chen progressive movement).

Who represents the Self line in the second hexagram that Tientai helped plot?  Who is asking about the auspiciousness of a situation? Just like in Bazi with Daymaster (DM), in Liu Yao we must first make sure who is Self, i.e. who has the main interest with regard to the asked situation. 

1) The US?  Because ren is an American and the question was posted together with the America (Trump) situation.  But there is no American victim.
2) Ukraine?  Because it's a Ukrainian airline.
3) Iran?  Half of the passengers were Iranian, and the crash happened in Iran.
4) Canada?  63 Canadians were in the plane, because the flight is connected to Toronto (Canada). And btw, I have just found out something surprising, Prime Minister Trudeau is now with beard!! What is going on with him...

Actually the "difficulty" in cases like this is having no interest in the outcome, and doing a divination just out of curiosity.  The answer from the divinity may not be provided in the resulting hexagram.  As said above, asking is a very sensitive thing.  My Liu Yao master also mentioned this quite a few times during my study.

Normally my clients for divination ask about something that is of concern to them, or they have an interest in the matter (be it financial, relationship, career, business cooperation, university selection etc.)  For the very few times that they asked just out of curiosity, I had to decline the request.  Normally they would not do that anyway, because they would have to pay a fee. 

The best that we can get out of topics like this is an exercise on Liu Yao methodology and reading images between the lines.

There is some hope of (temporary) peace. 

Update: so far so good with regard to peace.

Practically the whole world is affected by the coronavirus now.  The US is busy with the presidential primaries (for the election in November).  And, Iran has just recently emerged as another country with serious cases of coronavirus.
