ANSWER:

In Bazi, LP = 10-year Luck Pillar.  LP analysis influences greatly the auspiciousness of the natal chart, so it's important how to analyze the LP.

One LP is divided into two sub-LP's, and each one lasts 5 years.
Since an LP has Stem/Branch, there are two kinds of ordering of the sub-LP's:
-  First 5 years: Stem sub-LP; second 5 years: Branch sub-LP.  We can call this the normal ordering
-  First 5 years: Branch sub-LP; second 5 years: Stem sub-LP.  We can call this the reversed ordering

Example: female Daymaster born in Wu Chen year.  For this case, she uses the second (reversed) ordering: Branch sub-LP, and then Stem sub-LP.  As to how to determine which ordering is something that I explain in the Mangpai Bazi course.

When this female Daymaster goes through LP Jia Yin: first 5 years is mainly Yin Branch, and second 5 years is mainly Jia Stem.  In other words, in the first 5 years, Yin Branch is active, while in the second 5 years, Jia Branch is active.

This explanation is just a simplified version.  In the course, there is more detailed information regarding the use of a sub-LP.
