Hello Candih,
I'll try using my Bazi system that analyzes elemental interaction and the meanings behind them.
It is not good at telling you specifically if a marriage will happen and be a successful one, but it can tell a gender's luck with the opposite gender.
So usually if asked about when one will get attached or hitched, I'll find a time period where a person's "love" luck is stronger than normal.
For males, the wealth element is their luck with ladies - in your boyfriend's case, it would be Metal.
For females, the controlling element is their luck with males - in your case, it would be Water.
Looking at your boyfriend's chart...he's not terribly good at romantic gestures, is he?
His natal chart does not possess any metal.
His 10 year luck pillars all doesn't introduce any Metal until very very late in life.
He can only rely on sporadic appearances of Metal in the flow of years where he will have pockets of good luck with females.
I would actually pin your get-together year as 2020, with appearance of Geng metal in his heavenly stem.
Not exactly 4 years, but 3+...close? Let me know if this is accurate?
The next time metal appears for him will be 2028, with a Shen metal in the earthly branch.
If that wait is too long, you might need to proactively push him to take action - it will not come naturally to him before 2028.
Remember, "destiny" as seen on Bazi only account to 1/3 possibility of an outcome happening, the other 2/3 comes from Feng Shui and personal actions.
You can change destiny through actions + good Feng Shui.
Now, with all that being said, I would like to play a bit of detective here if you would indulge me.
The fact that you are asking here, means it is likely you have been waiting for him to take action, but disappointingly he hasn't.
This year 2023 sees the appearance of Gui water in your heavenly stem, which increases your relationship luck with males.
Could there be other suitors appearing in your radar? And you are starting to harbor 2nd thoughts?
Hence, you are checking if marriage with your boyfriend would ever happen, to put an end to those thoughts?
The last bit is totally just inference from reading the Bazi chart, not based on any Bazi calculations.
Let me know how accurate that is.

He isn't the romantic type at all, if there is something like valentines day, I arrange things and make it special. Although oddly he thinks he is romantic without actually doing anything of that nature. We met in March of 2019,but moved in together March 2020 when South Africa started it's CV lock down, I didn't want to be without him. No other prospects, but I really want to get married and I just can't seem to convince him. I am getting on his nerves bringing it up all the time. I am getting old, I would like to have kids while I am still physically capable. Thank you for your insight😁

Great to know at least there are no other potential suitors in the mix here - that would make things complicated.
Now, as fortune tellers, I see it as part of our job to find solutions for requesters, than just divining the future.
However....wow...your boyfriend is a tough one to crack.
He is so unromantic that I can't find a good time window for him to take action naturally before 2028.
There are of course, small pockets of stronger metal elements in the months, but those effects are quite small, so I don't feel confident relying on those.
It is more likely you get a better than average date with him during those small pockets, than an actual wedding ceremony/proposal.
So, seems like we can't rely on the 1/3 destiny part - we gotta take matters into our own hands.
Let's analyse from Ten Gods perspective:
- Your boyfriend is very, very strong in output element EG (5 out of 8 elements on natal chart!). He is the kind who does what comes to his mind, and ignores rules and authorities. He has controlling elements (Ren and Zi water) in his chart, but they are completely squashed by his output elements.
- Because he doesn't play well with rules, forcing him into doing things that don't align with what he wants will not yield positive outcomes.
- He is so strong in output that he does not even gets angry fighting back rules - Likely he just flats out ignores them and does what he wants.
- We established he is not romantic at all, so doing acts of love is unnatural to him.
- So if you force/demand him to perform these acts of love, he will get more and more unhappy.
How then, can we use what we have to improve the situation? My solution:
- Output element grows wealth element. Wealth element is what we need here.
- We need to channel his overly strong output element and create wealth element.
- You will need to do a bit of "mental taichi" here and redirect his output into the love language you want. i.e., a bit of mind games to make him think that the actions he is pursing is his own ideas, but the outcome is what you seek.
- Avoid being confrontational, instructional, or demanding. Those scenarios are rule-based, and he respond poorly to it.
Is it a sly approach? Yes, kind of.
But destiny is working against him here, so he needs to take action.
But if he is not aware of the actions required and takes poorly to instructions, so we have guide his actions instead.
It will be a tad more tiring on your end cause you still have to shoulder the effort to guide, and also speed is not as quick as being able to take instructions.
But once you get the hang of directing his output energy correctly, relationship should improve.
You can play with Feng Shui too, but that is beyond my proficiency.
Feng Shui is my least favored approach because I am not well-versed in the area of auspicious items.
Rearranging the house for better Feng Shui is also sometimes not possible for the people - renovations are fixed already, other occupants are unwilling to change, etc.
Hence it is the last thing I would try, but that is your choice.
