In fact it's a good question.
Almost all big masters nowadays use "modern" HHS set, instead of traditional like in Zi Ping.
All of them use Ding as main stem in Wu.
I think their thinking may be (?) that when we look at dominant HHS, Ding is slightly longer in duration (but this also depends on source, some assign same duration to both).
But I am not the one to correct masters :)
As for the option in the calculator itself, my opinion is that we should just look at the ten gods assigned to hidden stems. Myself I don't use ten gods names displayed on branches at all.
Since there are different views, I have added an option (another option!) so users can choose.

A. Yang fire, because main stem inside snake is Bing Yang fire (i.e. direct wealth for a Gui DM).

Gui is sitting on si is read as indirect wealth.
In bazi the 8 characters are the main elements. The hidden elements in EB are the sub qi. To used the hidden elements some conditions must be presented.
