Zengshan Buyi (Wild Crane) Table of Contents

Hi all,

In the spirit of Tientai’s translation of part of Zēngshān Bǔyì’s (ZSBY) table of contents (see https://fivearts.org/index.php?topic=397.0), I’m posting two near-identical (some of the variations are identified by being in blue font) translations of the Table of Contents for:

• ZSBY year 2006 version (as kindly provided by Dao and JLim (see https://fivearts.org/index.php?topic=1878.msg16142;topicseen)).
• ZSBY year 1691 version (downloaded from https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:GGZBCK416_%E5%A2%97%E5%88%AA%E5%8D%9C%E6%98%93_%E5%8D%9C%E7%AD%AE%E6%AD%A3%E5%AE%97.pdf)

Comparing the versions:

• ZSBY 2006 uses simplified Chinese characters, ZSBY 1691 uses traditional.

• ZSBY 2006 contains additions (e.g. case studies) and amendments to ZSBY 1691.

• ZSBY 2006 is divided into four volumes, ZSBY 1691 into 12.

• ZSBY 2006 has three more chapters than ZSBY 1691 although these three chapters are subchapters in ZSBY 1691. That is, topics covered in the chapter titles of the two ZSBY versions are the same.

The translations may not be the most accurate, but hopefully it gives a general idea of ZSBY’s contents.
