Just so that everybody is on the same page on the divination topic: "Commission" refers to a special job position/assignment, and not "money paid because you sell something".  This means Officer line is the Yong Shen or focus god, and not Wealth line.

I wouldn't have foreseen death in this case, because the topic is not about health or well-being but "commission". 

Having said that, note that the hidden Parent line in this case is able to come out.  When it comes out, it moves and has power to overcome Self line You.  Because Fire overcomes Metal.   But still it would be far-stretched to say that Self line suffers.

an unchanging hexagram is likely only describe the situation. it's hard to get guidance for what to do or any clue what may happen.

few weeks ago, i also got hexagram 43 (Determination) unchanging when asked about something i've been considering for 2 years and not decide yet

I don't know if I understood correctly if he finally got the promotion or not. The text seems to contradict itself. First it says: no possibility to get [this position]. After the text says he got it ["He received the position within three days"], even though Child is devitalizing yong shen, by being in conjunction with the day he has the ability to vitalize/devitalize. Sometimes the fact that the Subject himself is the Ji Shen means that the subject has the capacity to dominate what he asks, control over the matter, which in this case would be the focus star (yong shen).

By the way, according to some rules, being Subject You metal strengthened by Month and Day, it would be a false/fake Kong wan

It's not really a contradiction.  The author (Wild Crane) was just surprised, because by right (according to his knowledge), it's inauspicious for obtaining the position.  But later on (within three days) the querent did obtain it!  That's why he wrote (as Tientai translated): How could I know...

Subject is strengthened only by Month.

This is one of the obscure cases in the classical text.  And there are quite a few of them.

In Jack Chiu's book it says: "Since casting is to seize the revelation of the divine power in a particular day, so the day branch of the day of casting will have determining effect onto the Vulnerable as well as all of the lines in the hexagram." And in "The Gold Yarrows" book is said: "The day branch is the master of the 6 lines". (Note: The Vulnerables is Yong Shen).

It's true that it seems somewhat contradictory. I quote directly from his book, page 148:

There are two scenarios in which a neutralized line can restore its ability:
- Out of the 10-days period or chu-xun, the neutralized line will become effective if it is a neutralized active line
- It will not be neutralized if the line is in the status of either strong or asocciate in the strenght scale with respect to the month branch

Perhaps the strength of the month is more decisive if we refer exclusively to neutralized lines, or that is deduced from his statement. The practice of real cases will, as always, be the one to prove the validity (or not) of a rule.
