Choosing the best setting for my turtle.
« on: July 09, 2023, 07:54:35 PM »
Hi everyone,

I have a turtle in a small water pond. I asked what conditions are healthier for my turtle.

Scenario A. Clean the tank aseptically every week and do NOT let any natural biological elements (algae, bacteria, etc) grow.

Scenario B: Clean the tank every week but let any natural biological elements (algae, bacteria, etc.) grow freely.

My doubt comes because I have tried to let microorganisms grow spontaneously; the water literally turns green colour in a few days. Some of these microorganisms are beneficial (nitrifying bacteria, green algae...), which are consumers of nitrogenous substances that are toxic for turtles (ammonia, nitrites); however undesirable bacteria also grow (cyanobacteria) which produce toxins that also harm turtles. As I am not a biologist nor do I have a laboratory to know what microorganisms I have in my pond, nor if the possible cyanobacteria are releasing toxins, I asked the iching which scenario would be the most suitable for the health of my turtle.

Scenario A. Clean the tank aseptically every week with full water change

Scenario B Don't clean the tank aseptically every week. Only partial water change.

About setting. Yong shen Offspring as mascot. Self and Other I am not sure, but I thought before casting that self is turtle and Other could be environment.

Any comments on this matter are appreciated.

Liu Yao has the Six Animals, and one of them is Tortoise.  What better tool to analyze the health of a turtle than Liu Yao? :D :D :D

Also, we are talking about the tank, which is what gives protection for the turtle, so it's the Resource line.  And about disease too, which is represented by the Officer line.

Scenario B:
1. Officer line goes to Wei Tomb
2. Si Resource goes out of hiding mode
3. Therefore, Si combines with Shen, which is Offspring (turtle)
4. This combination cannot overcome Shen, because Shen is strong by both Month and Day.  This is a beneficial combination for Offspring
This shows that scenario B is quite good.

Now, the Others line represents the environment, which is Asset.  Asset represents food, and goes into the Day Tomb.  This suggests that food need to be improved for the turtle's health.  This is not the main question, but still related to the turtle's health.

I have analyzed Scenario A, too, but to save some time, the conclusion is that Scenario B is better than A.

I think we are suppose to realign the other relations based on the Focus. As that is why its the Focus hehe

But I don't know what 'mascot' is in this case, as it seems turtle specific terminology. Whatever it is its difficult to realign the rest to it.

Yet based on Self/Other line I do agree with Jlim second hexagram looks better.

Hi Gmuli, you are right, mascot is a misused term, I meant a pet.

Aha, well turtle seems stronger in case 2.
If that is enough I do not know, as I'm not sure about the other factors(is it good environment to be weaker or stronger etc.)
But since we both read it like that and turtle line is stronger, probably choice 2 may has more potential. Although not sure.
