Please help me understand my career luck
« on: September 11, 2023, 05:15:47 PM »
Hi,

I lost my account so I can't find what was interpreted for me previously. Hope someone can help me do. Reading for my bazi or zwds.

So I've been experiencing some good and bad things this year and one of it is my career. I've recently (1month+) changed to a new job with high salary. But I feel like I don't really jive in the culture and I'm underperforming as compared to my manager's expectations. I'm an introvert so working in marketing is kinda contradicting. I feel like I've made a wrong decision. Is there an industry I would be more suitable to work in? Can anyone help me interpret my career luck?

I'm a female, born in 27/2/1996, 4.40am, Malaysia

TQ

Your chart seems to love fire element the most and dislike metal: https://bazi-calculator.com/?licz=1&y=1996&m=2&d=27&h=4%3A40&g=8&l=101.6869&lon=3.139&s=1&city1=101.6869%7Ckuala+lumpur

IMO, marketing isn't purely fire (igniting/influencing the mass). It's also mixed with metal as we deal with the uncertainty of winning/losing and pressure from competition.

To make it work, wood and fire must remain strong. To finally succeed, wood and fire must produce earth.

I guess it means your work should be related to growth/advisory/healing and joy/enthusiasm/passion. The end result of your work is "something" becomes very stable, well-organized, routine and inflexible. There is a peace of mind, free from uncertainty, change and movement.

That "something" can be yourself, other people or an object.

Hi coldpillow

TQ for the interpretation. So what I can understand is that I'll be better suit for a career with stability? Something that doesn't have too many sudden changes? I worked in fmcg industry so thing moves fast and can be spontaneous.

Also, base on my elements what industry or career suits me better?

Hi @kiwi ,

Congratulations on your new job.
Base on your chart, your career luck is metal.
Last month was Geng-Shen, a fully metal month, which probably brought you the luck to secure this job.

This month is Xin-You month, another fully metal month.
This year is Gui-Mao year. Mao is wood and is your peer element.
Last month Shen clashes with the Mao and this month You also clashes with Mao.
I think this may be the reason why you are feeling that you don't jive with the culture at work.

Do note next month is Ren-Xu, and Xu is your wealth luck.
Mao and Xu will form a combination, reducing both luck.
Not sure if the Mao as peer element here is referring to your colleagues, but it could be due to their influence/involvement, you lose some money.

I suggest you wait until the month after next and re-evaluate your feelings again before you take steps to leave the company.
It's never too late.

---

Regarding your introversion...are you really an introvert?
Because I see 3 fire in your chart and fire is your expressive element.
Granted, the 2 Bing fire are Eating God, so maybe you aren't loudly expressive, but you are likely to proceed and do things as you deem fit.
You should be more openly expressive among friends, with the 2 Yin wood feeding the Wu fire in the Earthly Branches.

Note: Your 2 Bing fire is clashing with your one Geng metal, which is your career luck.
This suggest the way you like to do things don't jive with how the job / boss wants you to.
And this seems to be an innate behavior that will not change over the different 10-year cycles.

You might need some strong earth energy to bridge the gap between fire and metal.
To convert your talents into something acceptable and desirable for the company you are working for.
Perhaps try earth-related industries?

Hi,

Thank you so much for your explanation.

I do intend to stay a little longer to see how it goes since I'm still on probation. I'm just worried I'll never find a suitable job  or career that I can stay in. Would you say it's better for me to continue my Master's studies for now instead of just job hoping?

Also, I'm quite ok with expressing myself and am loud with people I know. But often time among people I'm not close, I don't like small talks so people always call me out as too quite lol.

What is your background education? Do you have a hobby?

I studied linguistics though it wasn't exactly by choice. But I do like to research and write. I've been a copywriter before and loved the job. But because of the pay and company values being different, I went for marketing instead.

I've thought of becoming a freelance writer though but was told my luck shouldn't do business but to work for companies.

Writer is a good example for wood and fire jobs.

As a writer, you can try working for reputable companies in education, medical, agriculture, human resources, real estate, urban planning sectors.

Freelancer is worth trying, but this is WATER in characteristics (very unstable). Your chart still needs water a little bit, so I guess freelancing can be your side jobs.

There are 2 ways of working as a freelancer:
- Work for a few clients who want long-term relationship or
- Work for many clients who want short-term relationship

Your luck is more suitable for long-term relationship. After you have enough experience, who knows it may become your main job.

I just realize I have to make an adjustment to my reading: your fire clashing metal may not always be bad for career. Yes, there is a possibility for that outcome, but there it is also possible to mean that you express your capabilities and overcome challenges. In that sense, it will be beneficial for work (or any challenges in life). However, since both scenarios are possible, it is best you walk the line carefully. Now that you are aware of the boon and bane of your Bing fires clashing Geng metal, you can take care not to offend, while showing your natural skills to solve problems. In a way, I am trying to convey a harmonious flow approach: use your talents (expression-fire) to come up with solutions that brings value (grows wealth luck-earth) for the job (grows career luck-metal). Instead of just doing what you feel is right (expression-fire), because sometimes it does not jive with the work demands (clashes career-metal) but sometimes it does (clashes challenges-metal). The latter will become a random/gamble approach if you are not conscious of your actions. Note that the harmonious approach will feel uneasy for you due to the lack of earth (your wealth luck) in your chart, so if you want to do it, you will need to will it consciously - which can be tiring long term as it is not your style.

So coming back to you worrying about finding a suitable job or career, I would say don't be, just understand the double-edge sword your fire vs metal luck brings. Choose actions that overcomes problems and bring value, avoid actions that clashes with authorities. I think you'll do fine for any job if you are conscious about it.

---

Whether or not you want to pursue studies or work now is your choice.
Your learning luck (water) is generally ok, and fire clashing metal also means you can overcome exams.
So pursuing Masters is fine also.
But eventually you have to come back to the workforce and face your career challenges.

Also, I'm quite ok with expressing myself and am loud with people I know. But often time among people I'm not close, I don't like small talks so people always call me out as too quite lol.
I guess that correctly explains the Eating God Bing fires and Hurting Officer Wu fire differences in your chart  :)

I've thought of becoming a freelance writer though but was told my luck shouldn't do business but to work for companies.
I think that was advised because you have no wealth element (earth) in your chart.
Wealth is the direct luck for running a successful business.
So the potential via pure dumb luck is not great.
However, there is an alternative for success: your strong expression element (3 fires).
Through hard work of selling your talents, you can succeed too - it just requires you to put in the effort.

So every path for you has pros and cons, you just need to know what those are.
Bazi is here to inform, but the decision is up to you  ;)

Thanks!

Never really thought of combining elements together. I've always thought that lacking earth means I have to do jobs related to soil or construction lol.

From my understanding, your career is mostly influenced by wood and fire element.

Earth is only an indicator whether your career will be thriving or not.

It's okay if you don't have much earth, because your strong output element also represents your noblemen luck. It means life will be generous to your career even if you are clueless and you don't have to work like a horse until the bitter end.

If you want more earth, the easiest way is working for people, or companies, who have good amount of earth in their natal charts. That's the only way to be sure. Intuitively, you will have strong liking or desire to work for them (affinity).

However, it's impractical to find out birthdays of companies. Unless maybe if you work for startups or online entities. In this case, I rely on metaphors: boring, peaceful, inflexible, routine, static/very slow moving are typical earth characteristics. If you want to rely on literal meaning, then it must be related to land, real estate, construction, stone, soil/dirt.

For example, these are 2 freelance marketplace with a lot of earth and fire: Fiverr, Freelancer.com

Their launch date is their birthday. I got them from wikipedia (fiverr) and crunchbase (freelancer).

Freelancer.com: https://bazi-calculator.com/?licz=1&n=99-Freelancer&y=2009&m=5&d=1&h=%3F&g=0&l=0&lon=-6.1554
Fiverr: https://bazi-calculator.com/?licz=1&n=99-Fiverr&y=2010&m=2&d=1&h=%3F&g=0&l=0&lon=-6.1554

Fiverr is infamous for being ridiculously cheap, but they do have a premium version with much higher pricing: Fiverr Pro, which requires robust and authentic proof that you are indeed a seasoned professional.

There is another one with more balanced elements and strong water in the chart: https://bazi-calculator.com/?licz=1&n=99-Upwork&y=2015&m=6&d=17&h=%3F&g=0&l=0&lon=-6.1554

It's Upwork, I got the official launch date from Zippia.
