Liu Yao / Re: What is outcome of Chess Match?
« on: January 08, 2024, 08:05:03 PM »
Hi ren.

Hexagram without setting beforehand, something complicated then...

If I assume that Other is the yong shen, it seems that Other has a better winning condition. But if Other is the yong shen, who represents the rival? Wu sibling, Si sibling? either way, the Chou Offspring is in better condition.

I had another internet outage. The terminal box on the street has a fault. The technicians came and instead of fixing the problem they created a bigger problem and the box was now without power. A total of six technicians came yesterday to fiddle with the terminal box. I don't know what kind of botched job they did. I don't know if they came together or separately and each one made a mess.

The technician told me that the problem caused was big. I found this out today from my technician.

On Friday the 13th I had the outage. I did the divination yesterday.

I asked, when will I have internet again?

Mao Offspring changes to Officer, and this Wei Officer is wood tomb. It has the image that a solution becomes a problem (?)

I wonder if it is in Mao's day, but 10 days seems like an eternity to me...

Any comments would be appreciated.
Regards.

FREE Divination Request / Re: job prospects?
« on: September 10, 2023, 08:43:28 PM »

As the Subject line is strong, the querent's intention is strong to find another job. Here, the intention may be to get the same job type as before. The job market is not strong for him.
I'd like to add that the job market is declining, because Chen retreats to Chou.

@JLim @ren A question here: do you associate Chen Parents in the line of Others with the Job Market because it is in the line of Others or because it is the relative/six kins "Parents"?

In my experience it does influence, now that it influences does not mean that it is necessary or Sine qua non condition to always set the framework/system/rules. You will still get a more or less useful answer. For example Harmen says that you always get what you need independent of what system you use, your rules or even your knowledge.

Now if you are looking for precision and accuracy the most convenient thing to do is to set the frame. But even so I have seen several cases published in social networks where even setting an elaborate and analytical framework results in not accurate. So there will be more variables in the matter that I don't know. I guess something inherent related to any divination system.

regarding mixing systems, sometimes I do it, sometimes I do not. Sometimes classic text-based yijing is complementary to WWG. Other times they contradict each other, so when I only want trigram or text based reading I use different coins for casting. Even Mei Hua and WWG in my experience often find contradictions in interpretation.

In Sandifer's book, The authentic I Ching he advocates doing an "integrative reading" by mixing different methods (Mei Hua, Hexagram Meaning, texts, Liu Yao) and has some examples of cases where he does that.

Hi throosden, yes I think it still works even if he didn't specify the system before doing the cast.

Okay, so assume you want to analyse his answer with WWG. But you don't know the rules he used and his setting. How can you interpret it? Even worse if the person doesn't actually know WWG.

So probably same thing when we mix the different systems, WWG and text based. Different rules, different (encoding of) answer. No?

You see it differently?

I am not sure but I think that by synchronicity in some cases it should be valid regardless of whether the enquirer has no idea of the system. "The universe" (to call it something I don't know what it is) knows that the hexagram will be read by people who know the system and will give you their interpretation. But as I say not sure in the absence of verification.

Liu Yao / Re: Inactive line in conjunction with the day.

@JLim  If the clash with the day is called aggressive inactive or frenetic line (An-dong), also known as a secret movement; what is the inactive line in conjunction with the day called? Do you use this rule? (conjunction with the Day)

Thanks you.

Just my observation without looking at the hexagram. Your question was “if it was favorable to go swimming in the sea”.
This is based on your concerns:
1) I doubted if the sea was in bathing conditions or not.
2) If I would enjoy it.

I don't know if it matters or not, but I tend to think your query is based on two somewhat unrelated concerns.
The Hudson River (in New York) used to have raw sewage and industrial waste in it, but people still used to enjoyed swimming in it.

It is common to have several things in mind when you ask. 1) and 2) are related. If the sea is not in condition I would not be able to bathe therefore there is no fun. Sea conditions in this case refers to calm sea, low waves, low swell, low danger for bathing, etc.

But we are straying from the question of kong wang...

I had a question regarding a technical issue. I asked if it was favorable to go swimming in the sea. The question comes from the fact that I doubted if the sea was in bathing conditions or not, and if I would enjoy it.

When I saw the empty subject line I said to myself "ok it is obvious that I am not sure if the sea is in condition and it is reflected as empty". Here emptiness point a psychological or mental aspect. So what I did was to go and check it at once and go to the bathing place (I have it 50 meters from home). The result was that I saw the conditions of the sea in better conditions than I thought; it was not quite suitable for swimming (there was some danger at times) but I got to swim. Other people also went swimming. Other people however chose to swim in a puddle for safety.

But of course the hexagram shows a solid emptiness that moves to return vitalization. Can such an emptiness be vitalized by the Hai water Asset? the emptiness is filled by myself? i.e. it fills the emptiness depends on myself to go or not to go? because since the date (neither day nor month) the emptiness is filled. Only the year supports it, which is not common in WWG that the year fills the void.

PS.
- Another view of the matter is that the hexagram only has value or meaning in the moment, but it loses its validity once I decide to go and check it out for myself.

Any comments in this regard would be appreciated.

I wonder if somewhere PSOE was leading with 10%.
When the recount started PSOE was winning. With 43% of the count PSOE 132 seats (32,90%), PP 128 (30,71%)

Result:
PP: 136 seats (33,05%)
PSOE: 122 seats (31,70%)

PP wins by votes and seats.

However, neither of the two achieved an absolute majority to govern, so now a long period of negotiations is opened, and the possibility of electoral repetition due to the impossibility of achieving an absolute or simple majority.

I wonder if in month You (September) there will be surprises.

I will keep you informed.

I think that if you are not in a hurry or if it is not urgent, cast when necessary. In the election cast I preferred to cast yesterday on Si fire day instead of Chen. Chen day and Wei month would leave a lot of water and earth lines in grave. Personally that creates an element of confusion that makes it difficult for me to analyse.

38.6 Would expect PSOE to win with a big lead from PP(possibly more then 10%?!).

Psoe wins? Other line? 🤔

Liu Yao Case Studies / Elections in Spain.
« on: July 22, 2023, 11:56:09 PM »
The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) has ruled Spain for four years. The 2023 general elections are important because they will determine whether the PSOE can continue to govern or whether there will be a change of government. Election polls show that the People Party (PP) (center-right wing electoral party) is in the lead, but will need the support of the far-right party to govern.

I asked. Who will win

Setting: Self: PP; Other: PSOE; Yong shen: Oficial; Yuan Shen: Asset (voting rate)

My interpretation:

L1.
- Vote of punishment=Tiger (west, right), people disenchanted and angry with the left-wing government's actions.
- Offspring changes to Asset which vitalizes Self. Mobilization to favor PP, also the Active of Si tries to hurt PSOE, in vacuum.

L5. Sibling (voter/action). Active line change with return devitalization with earthworm (abstention, stagnation, resignation, center voter). That Sibling wants to hurt Self but is useless line broken, clashed by the day (not enough left-of-center mobilization).

L6 Others with snake: empty and snake: suspected electoral fraud. Alternatively: empty line=unable to govern or be reelected as president.

I assume that Chou's officer is associated with Other line: month breaker. Chen line is not negatively affected. Then there is Xu officer who clashes with Chen (perhaps power contested, competitive, foul play).

Elections are tomorrow 23 July, on Wu day, which is identified with the self line.

Please give some feedback if you consider it appropriate.

lets you practice!
