My brother was suspected of being infected by covid-19, as he had the usual symptoms, so on the 22nd he requested a test to verify whether he was positive or not. Two days before, I asked about the test, whether it would be positive.
I established a frame of reference before casting:
- Self line: Sibling
- Yongshen: Sibling
- JiShen: Official (since the officer restricts the brother)
- Condition for interpretation as a positive result: Officer in active line restricting Brother.
The exact question was: Is my brother infected with covid-19?
In my initial analysis I interpreted that it would NOT be positive in covid, since the Officer does not move, is not active, and is also in a vanishing phase for the day of Yin. In addition the subject line receives support from L2 Hai Parents who are "secretly moving" for the Yin day. Everything from which support is received can be read as immunity, internal processes that help the healing of the ongoing disease, in this particular case where the yongshen is the Brother. What I could not read was the meaning of the Active Chou changing to the Parent Zi forming a Liu He. But after knowing that the result was positive one could read the Active Chou changing to Zi Parent, this Zi Parent as a diagnostic test, and Parent carrying the branch of the Month could certainly be that, perhaps. I',m not sure...
So I wonder if the procedure of setting a frame of reference before casting and then interpreting it exactly as you have set it up can sometimes go wrong. I don't know why it can fail, like everything I suppose there are exceptions. Perhaps the unconscious content that is in your mind (with archetypal content with more divergent/creative type thinking) is more important than the frame of reference you set up, which is elaborated with logical/cartesian type thinking.
What is your opinion on this, and how would you read the hexagram?

Someone asked me to ask if his brother will divorce his sister-in-law. She suspects that something is going on, because the sister-in-law is not talking to her and she doesn't know why. A bit of context: they have been married for 20 years and have two children.
I don't usually cast for others, I prefer them to cast their coins, but this was an exception as she asked me to do so.
So, I asked: what will be the outlook for this marriage in the coming year?
The basic framework is: Self: Brother; Other: Sister-in-law; Yong shen: Brother. I thought that if there was also some kind of clash (chong) it could be divorce, or if the brother's line suffers some kind of damage or special situation.
The difficulty here is to identify which line/kind identifies all the parties involved.
At a first intuitive glance, I believe that Shen is certainly the Brother and not the sister-in-law. The sister-in-law I believe is represented by Yin Asset (hidden). I think perhaps RL3 Mao Asset is another woman. The Self line is at the vanishing point by Month, but is vitalised by this RL3 Mao Asset.
Parent of Xu or Parent of Chen could mean the marriage contract or simply their role as parents (they have two children). Mao Asset Liu He with Xu Parents in sixth line (I wouldn't know how to make sense of this exactly, but one can suspect a few things.). and most importantly the hidden Yin asset clash Shen Brother line. Next year (2022) is Yin, so I find it inauspicious for brother marriage.
what do you think, will there be a divorce?
P.D. I failed to mention that if we consider the sister-in-law as Other, then she would be the Shen Sibling, so it would change the interpretation completely, and add a lot of confusion to the reading. Always before casting, even when establishing a general framework, I allow the spirit of the hexagram some freedom to step out of the previous framework and freely show me the information I need to understand the situation.
I asked how valuable, in terms of knowledge, this mindfulness course would be for me.
- Self line: Self;
- Other line: Teacher
- Yongshen: Parents (knowledge).
1. Apparently it doesn't seem like a valuable course as Parents has a -2 prosperity index.
2. Self line is clashed by the day but combined with the Month. Killed by the day and drained by the month (but combining), perhaps the month predominates...but the day puts pressure on me to make up my mind....
3. Line of Others with Assets: well, I know she's a female teacher, and that the course is worth money....
4. I also don't like that the Offspring line (enjoyment, skills, or perhaps therapeutic capacity of the programme) is in the tomb of the day and hidden.
1. Self changes to Parents, could be my desire to do the course.
2. Parents changing to Officer: eventually the course will give me some authority (official) to further deepen my knowledge.
Background: I am considering other courses on the same matter with other teachers/instructors. I don't know whether to start with this one or try others. It is also true that I find it hard to shell out the amount of money, thinking that there may be better options. Apparently the institution is serious and the teacher have a good curriculum. I spoke to the teacher on the phone and found her to be friendly, empathetic and considerate.
I would appreciate your feedback on this. Tomorrow is the deadline for enrolment and I'm not sure whether to enrol or not.
My brother made an appointment for me to be vaccinated for covid-19 without my permission, which made me feel bad, as I don't trust this kind of experimental vaccines at all. I am very suggestible with all kinds of theories and rumours that these kinds of vaccines that have been developed so fast and have not been tested sufficiently to ensure their safety, could cause health problems, either in the short or long term.
I've heard all sorts of conspiracy theories that vaccines like Pfizer RNAm vaccine could modify one's genetics, so I don't feel safe getting vaccinated.
I have an appointment for today afternoon in the health center, and I don't feel like going at all. I don't even know which vaccine it will be, although it is most likely to be the Pfizer one. My parents and my brother are already vaccinated with Pfizer but I am reluctant.
I asked, Is this vaccine safe for my health?. R: Hexagram 7 (Shih) without change lines.
I did not set any framework, so as not to limit the system and see what it wants to tell me.I just thought that the Offspring line is the vaccine, but the Yong Shen is the Self line, myself, and if the vaccine can damage the Self line or cause some kind of disease or harm (Officer line).
What do you think? Is this vaccine safe for me?
Thanks in advance.

Today is the final of the Champions League, where two english teams face each other, Manchester against Chelsea. Estádio do Dragăo (Portugal). The match is contested between You and Xu true solar time (7 PM; GMT+1)
I asked, who will win?
- Self =Manchester
- Other =Chelsea
- Yong shen: Official winner, Offspring loser.
Since Other is in a void, all the fire of Si fire vitalises the Self line. Official Chou cannot vitalise Other either. Sixth line of Other tries to self-kill (bad thing). It seems that Self (Manchester) will win.
The fire San He cannot be formed because You (Other) is empty. Could You rooster's time fill the void of Other? it would be very rare...
The relative/kin Offspring is sometimes associated with Production (Output) and sometimes with Intelligence/Skills.
Can anyone give ideas of the underlying logic where Offspring represents intelligence, skills, and at the same time is ruining/destroying the Officer (power, status, control). How is this paradox solved?
Generally if we ask for a job, we have the Officer as Yong shen, and this shows our ability to successfully do the job. On the other hand, if we see a Offspring moving around destroying the Officer, we usually read it as "inability/incompetence" for that job.
So how can Offspring be intelligence and skills?
If we do a divination with Liu Yao in the southern hemisphere, is the date different from the date in the northern hemisphere?
For example today China is already on 21/05, Month and Day Si fire snake. In a country of the southern hemisphere would it be a different day and month, for example in Argentina?
So the @Gmuli calculator is not universal?
Someone asks if it is appropriate to rent a house to a family. She has had bad experiences with the previous tenant and is afraid it will happen again. With this last tenant, due to the problems she had somatized into facial paralysis, even.
Is it appropriate to rent the house to this family?
The interesting thing about this hexagram is that:
- it is a six clash
- All the changed lines are exactly the same that are already contained in the primary hexagram at different levels.
- There are two potential San He.
* Mao-We-Hai: 4th and 6th lines with RL6 (however Hai is afflicted by the Month break).
* Si-You-Chou: with the branch of the Month.
My doubts arise. Does a six clash with so many active lines automatically nullify the San He formation?
From J. Chiu's book about SanHe rules:
"None of the three components of the trine (1, 5, 9) is the opposite of the Day Branch or an Active Line. In the case of an Active Line, it has to be Strong and vitalized by the Day Branch to prevent the trigon from being formed. "
Chiu speaks of being opposite to the Day, but not opposite to the Month, as in this case that Hai is opposite to the month of Si.
Also if we take into account "(it is not the opposite) of an active line": then in a hexagram of six clashes with so many active lines it would annul any San He.
However I have told the consultant that I think it is a good idea to rent. Mainly because their focus is that they do not cause problems, and I do not see directly an attack or harm on the Self line, but a San He that simply does not get to form, but perhaps needs a Zi or Hai day to form.
One may think, no direct attack on the Self line? what about the line of Others clashing Self line? Well if we take into account the two San He (whether formed or not formed), it seems that the intention to form is, therefore, I do not know, it seems to me that it is the mentality of the querent and the fear of everything going wrong rather than what is going to happen in reality.
What do you think?

I have a doubt about asking questions and divinations on those days where either per day or per month we can find lots of lines of the hexagram that are in the Mu (tomb) stage or in the Jue (vanishing) stage.
It happens for example especially in Day/Month of Chen earth (earth/water in grave) and in date Si fire (earth/water in disappearance). As Mu and Jue are generally unfavourable signs, we may encounter the problem that the focus lines are all either in tomb or in disappearance, which may make an objective reading impossible, where confusion reigns rather than clarification.
If we add to this the fact that life stages can be drawn by Day or Month, we can find a lot of lines in tomb and disappearance. For example if we do a casting at Si Day and Chen Month.
I was looking forward to the end of this month of Chen because my last hexagrams appeared with lots of lines in tombs
Do you take this into account? What do you think about it? it would be better to avoid these dates?

Friends from their teenage years are now reunited. In the past they had no relationship, but now mutual feelings seem to have arisen. She likes the boy.
The fortune teller is a friend (girl), and she is the one who tosses the coins, asking about the future of the relationship. The one interested in the relationship with the boy expressly asked her friend to tell the future for her.
What destiny plan will there be for them as a relationship?
The greatest difficulty lies in interpreting the various parties involved since it is a friend who is guessing for others. And no framework has been established
I assume Self is the girl and Other is the boy. Sibling in an immobile void could be the guesser.
- Ji Shen sitting on Other is not a good sign, but Other gives birth to Subject. Other has good feelings for Self
- -Si fire Other is in the tomb of the Day. Being in the tomb would not be a good sign, but being the Ji Shen it would almost be adequate.
- Si fire Offspring cannot harm the yong shen, as it is hidden. It is somehow invulnerable. will yong shen ever come out of hiding?
- Yong shen is hidden and does not come out of hiding, but is strongly supported by the date, and bound with Month. And also comes with green dragon. Seems a good sign.
- Yong shen clash Mao Sibling. Sibling (friend) opposes the relationship? doesn't make much sense.
- L4 Wei Asset changes to Wu Offspring forming a Liu He. Likewise L4 Wei clash (chong) with Self. It seems that the Liu He protects from the chong. I'm not sure how to interpret this. First it clash and breaks the link or the bound prevents it from clashing...either way it indicates opposing forces, union and disunion...
Or it may indicate a future event
- in the derived hexagram if one looks at what it changes to Other changes to Official Shen. A clue to a possible favourable outcome.
On the other hand, If we bypass the Liu Yao analysis the hexagrams, and we focus on the zhou Yi, it speak for themselves: 37 Chia Jien Family/marital union shifting to 13. Tung Fen Friendship
A girl asks about a relationship with a guy, a relationship that is going through difficult times, mainly distancing and separation due to the guy's fears and conflicts with himself and the relationship itself. Additional fact: she is a separated mother with a 17-year-old son.
The girl asked: What decision will Mr. Z make about a relationship with me?
It caught my attention because despite being a case of Fan Yin, there are efforts both to maintain the relationship and to end it. It's a complex hexagram scenario, lot of lines interactions (Chong and Liu He), even up to the hidden line combines, I think.
What do you think was the outcome?
I am rescuing this case from my archives that I find interesting. At the time my reading was totally wrong
It is a medical matter. The daughter asks about her sick father (80 years old) admitted to the hospital for stroke (cerebrovascular). A week before the question the father had been given a cerebral stroke and a tracheotomy was done. He was given the option of euthanasia (removing oxygen therapy) or tracheotomy, because he was not breathing well and could not cough up mucus.
The specific question was: What is the prognosis of my father's stroke?
Your appreciations, please, I will reveal the outcome later.
Dear friends, I present this complicated situation that a friend of mine is going through. She has had diplopia (double vision) for about 3-4 years. Since she was very young she has had several surgeries to correct different eye problems (lens of the eye, cornea, etc) and some subsequent complications. It seems that the streak of eye problems does not end and now she has diplopia and also cataracts, but what she urgently needs to solve is the diplopia as it conditions her daily life a lot. She asks if a famous ophthalmology clinic would be able to help her to solve her eye problem, as other doctors/clinics have told her that they do not dare to operate anything because it is very risky, with the possibility of losing the vision in one of her eyes.
she asked: What can I expect from the work of this prestigious clinic on my vision problems? She tossed the coins herself.
It's a hexagram of clash and no change, and in a chronic condition (3-4 years) at first glance it does not look hopeful to me. Self is clashed by month. Moreover, Offspring is empty and the Officer (hostile spirit) is prosperous. The clinic could be the first line Water parents (azure dragon=prestigious), but it doesn't move. Medical and travel expenses could be assets/wealth.
Wooden Sibling is clashed by the day. Sibling+Parents might give a picture of "potential help" of the clinical, but Sibling is a broken line for the day.
I'd appreciate your insight in case I'm missing something.
I live near the coast so I like to go swimming in the sea. I use applications and websites that tell you the height of the waves, the strength of the wind among other parameters, but there are always surprises and the real result depends on more variables, such as the specific area of the coast. Also the weather forecast is not always accurate. So I usually ask with Liu Yao.
So far I look more at the star Offspring and Wealth, because indirectly it gives me an idea of how calm the place will be (calm, slack tide, clear sky, sun...), but I would like to know which kin/star would be the most suitable to assess in particular the condition of the sea.
In the few posts in English that circulate in the forums about the weather I have not seen any example to assess the sea, only the wind, sun, clouds, storm....
For example for sailors:
Offspring line represents the wind in the right direction.
Officer/ghost represents the wind in the opposite direction.
Officer/ghost represents thunder and lightning...
If the Officer/Ghost Yao moves in Zhen, there will be thunder.
If the Officer/The Ghost moves to become Wealth, then the rain and the brightness is intermittent.
General weather, J. Chiu:
"Parent" means rain
Which do you think would be the best relative/kin to reflect the condition of the sea? I thought perhaps Brother / Sibling is suitable, but since Brother vitalizes Offspring, then there is no point in having waves that are fun, not sense. For the surfers it would make sense but not for the swimmers
Christmas is approaching and so are the gifts. Which of the five relative categories would the gifts fall into?
- Wife/Asset: as an object that costs money
- Offspring/Child: as an object that produces fun, pleasure, joy.
As an example, a consultation from last year. At the time I thought that Offspring would be more suitable, but I would like to hear your opinions.
I asked: will my father like this gift?
