I am wondering what other members found working for them for when the hidden lines(or hiding spirit etc) comes out.
Initially I started with Jacks Chius idea. There he presents some rules, stuff like if the flying spirit(visible line on top of the hidden) produces the hidden, then the hidden line comes out.
Or that if the day clashes the visible line the hidden line comes out etc.
Didn't seem to work great.
Since then I've tested other set of rules and, so far haven't found anything working stable neough to be worth considering.
The only thing that seems obvious is that hidden line comes out if the line its hidden behind is in void.
Yet this is just one rule and there seems to be more, yet in practice I find it more accurate to consider that this is the only situation where the hidden lines come out and I don't think I have had cases where it seemed obvious the line would be there yet I missed it.
But it seems wise idea to make some reality check with other members, maybe someone is using some interesting rule that I missed? : )

In order to determine good or bad fortune one involved, to distinguish the severity and strength, ( focus ) on fushen if going to exit, if fushen is not going to exit, we ought to study all this.

Designate period of month and day, the ability to say properly (if ) the month and day giving birth for support accordingly.
1.伏神全出。

This is similar to what I was using before, though.
If the hidden lines control the line on top of it it will go out... Yet I'm not sure it works like that in practice.
Will look for old examples when I can and see if I can show it clearly enough. : )

I would read it that you will be supported by the people around you.
With the white tiger, maybe people with western medicine knowledge?
Alternatively, Tientai in one of the other topics used sibling as immunity, that seems logical.
So if we take sibling as immunity, or as general health condition, we can say that you are healthy enough so all this isn't as big problem as it could have been for someone else.

We all agree that Fifth line Sibling Shen does come out. But from which criteria in the classics does Shen come out? I see none!

I don't view it that Shen comes out. I view it as people hidden behind showing support(western medicine doctor, or sport related friend etc). Perfectly fitting the idea hidden line shows support when producing without coming to the front.
Would agree Shen comes out if Ren went in a place where other people took care of him, as then other people would be in the front, while he would take Child position just resting. As that could be a resting vacation thing(people can do that for injury in parts of the world), could be a hospital for a few days or something similar.

There's a good debate going on about the hidden lines.
Couple that with my doubt about the fake Kong Wang, here's a case where someone asks if he'll get the money his boss owes him.

We see that the Month branch coincides with the hidden line and is also being vitalized (sheng) by the Day. Also, the fushen is giving birth to the feishen. Would it be a "fake kong wang" or directly "not kong wang"? Is it filled by the Month Mao so there's no void???
the Hidden Spirit (Shen) produces the Flying spirit (Zi)
Jack chiu in his book just for the issue that JLIM comments on, when fushen vitalizes feishen. He says that if that happens the hidden line is effective (able to impose relationships on other lines and thus get out of the hidden mode). This is a rule that I have marked in red as it seems to go against common sense, because it is strengthening the line that is hiding it. But that's what he says in his book.

I don't know it either... Was guessing how it could have turned out. Its not from Jacks book(somewhat obvious by the date).

This is a case I remembered and I saw it as a very good example for both fake kong wang and fushen rules
And yes, He finally got the money, I only know that on March 20th the boss told him that would give him the money, but that because of the quarantine for the covid-19 the transaction would be delayed. It seems that he received it a few days later than March 20th, but I don't know the exact date.
My doubt is whether the Month of Mao is capable of filling the void. If so, it would resolve the issue of the void. Even if Month Mao was not able to fill the void, Day and Month support Mao hidden line in void, then it could be a fake kong wang (??). I don't know that's why I'm asking here.
I think the aspect of whether it comes out of hiding mode is due to these aspects:
- The month of Mao supports the fushen and the day gives birth to it.
- The Day of Hai water weakens the feishen Wu fire (the day is fierce!)

I can recommend to not count on the rules of the .exe calculator much. Most was from Jack, but I don't use that now, one of the reasons we are moving to the site calculators, in there will set only stuff I'm absolutely sure works, or form source that I have full confidence in.
And that basically means its very likely we won't see rules in there anytime soon . ; )
Same problem for images of the Trigrams, now on the site the Images from Harmen are much, much better, yet back then I set what I had for the PC software.
About the rules - I do agree, the hidden line is strong and its also in the month. Month can interact with everything, of course the line would interact as well(as it would be strange if the same branch interacts form the month and not from the line).

Yea, that was a mistake, probably, but I don't actually use any of that now, I use that in both cases it will stay hidden unless other factor comes in(like same line in the month, or line on top of it in void).
The way I view it now, its very unlikely hidden line will become visible, as just the way it seems from real life examples. There was a long period(more then a year) where I just consider them to never become visible, but few adjustments were needed.
The exception I'm happy to add after Tientai translation is if the hidden line controls the visible line and is very strong(so supported by month and day) it can show up very fiercely, but I'm still not actually using the other stuff, I'm just overly enthusiastic when something works sometimes hehe
(although for overly strong hidden line, may reconsider depending on the situation itself)

Its very rare, however.
There are only 3 Hexagrams where that can happen I think, that would be 33 41 61 and I dont think it can ever be Si<>Xu.
So having example with one of these 3 hexagrams, to have the hidden line be that important and the circumstances so clear to follow, will be challenging to find. : )

I had one case with fei Shen to be a tomb of Fu Shen ... but I don't find in my papers ..

I personally have a lot of doubts in classic texts.
We all have probably read bazi classics like 子平真诠评注 or 滴天髓 or other translations and the forum wouldn't be based on "mangpai blindman schools" if we thought everything in there works exactly as its presented . : )
There are many examples all around, if we check Alex Chius site, or even Ak Gurus examples there are many, many readings(hundreds+) and everything fits perfectly to the rules they are using... And I have doubts it actually happened like that. Even more so for texts written by people I don't know, but hundreds of years ago.
In that sense I ignore examples form classic texts usually,no idea who wrote them or how carefully they followed the events after the question to be sure the outcome will fit to what they said. Only thing we know is that they were wrote hundreds of years ago, how good were the people with the system back then I would not know.
I do know if someone takes a present WWG book, a few hundred years from now and accept the rules work perfectly like it is said there, because its on the topic, because someone takes it as classic, or because it seems respectable, there would be a lot of disappointment ahead, since much of what is in it won't work very well(or at all) as presented.
Same counts for authors and people like Alex, maybe all was correct, maybe they just wrote how the situation should go so it fits the rules... We will never know, what I do know is that I have a lot of doubts in present day rules presented in WWG sources. I have even more doubt in classical texts rules and cases, presented hundreds of years ago.
In this specific text, there doesn't seem to be any info how the situation actually went on from there, so its not a big problem ehre, but even if there was -classical text example for me last few years is much more unreliable then most other sources out there(even a normal member posting a question).

I agree with you. I too have a lot of doubts, and use them only as reference since people like to refer to them. Why did I post an example from 增删卜易 Zeng Shan Bu Yi? Because that's one that I can find for the purpose of discussing Hidden Spirit entombed in Flying Spirit. I do have one example from my client, but in that case it's not the main Yong Shen and it's meant for date selection.
Now that you mention it, I do not believe nearly all of those four ways that the Hidden Spirit can come out. I quoted them because those four are being discussed here.

Exactly! Having said that, we can still gain quite some knowledge from those texts. The difficulty lies in which portions we can use, and which portions we cannot. The least that they did was bringing divination with Six Lines into practice well into the contemporary world.

I think many trials and corrections of errors ocured in the past history of wen wang gua ...
Wild Cranes Book is a typical example of clearing out many mistakes on written Hexagrams from the past and how isthe correct interpretation until then ..!!
Still many laws (principles) are open in discussion .. only our experience will make a mark (or quotation) on what prinsiple occurs very well and is acceptable or not.
Insisting on some laws (if fushen come out .. etc.) is how some of us has worked on this way by some Hexagram s...
The last point and not least is the Resault of divination .. the final judgment.. (.. if someone is correct then the way he follows is correct )..

Zeng Shan Bu Yi is one of the books by Wild Crane 野鹤老人, and it's not clear who his real name is. Wild Crane is a nick name, just like JLim, but my real name is clear ;)

Maybe there is unspoken agreement going on through the ages... When someone think they have perfected the rules well enough for the current period they can add another book from that name with what they know.
When someone in the forums becomes flawless with the rules may start encouraging them to write a modern wild crane book... Its a good way to leave a trace in history and add another step to something that may be a nice tradition. If they don't know Chinese would be also a fun way to make the tradition more global, as the next series of the book may come in the English speaking world instead...

That is step along the way.
Most serious western orders were the same, they were so closed off, even a few sentences of their teachings to the outside world was suppose to bring them so many curses almost no one dared to do it(and their curses aren't like regular people curses, they knew what they were doing).
Along the way people came that figured out that is silly, humanity have to develop as a whole and they presented the information to the world.
Their fate turned out exactly as the curse in the orders go, yet we still respect them and what they did today, and since then for many decades all this info is open to the world.
There are people in Chinese metaphysics doing the same(Alex for example) , give it a century or two, as things go much, much slower there, but it will eventually come out or disapear.
At the end of the day the needs of humanity will prevail on factionalism. Its just the way it is.
We may not be alive to see it ,though, as that stuff takes time...

There is another thing, though...
The worthy information will always be in the open at some point, that is the principle.
One of the reasons, even though I studied a lot of metaphysical systems and I'm still learning more then just the Five Arts at the same time, there was only 2 seminars I ever actually went physically for and that was because all was just work with the lightbodies, so no way to do it from some distance.
Everything that is worth knowing will always be in the open or finds its way to reach us, that was always the principle. So if practitioners in China consider the highest level spiritual sciences of China important to keep away from the west - that means we don't need it to work with the systems in the most beneficial way for us.
Everything we would need, we would know, that is how it all works, always. : )
Everything someone is putting effort to prevent us from knowing won't actually help us in the long run. Always.

I am in doubt, can a hidden line that comes out of the hidden mode be considered an Active Line? Jack Chiu includes the invisible lines within the chapter of Active Lines, and when it comes out of the hidden mode he talks about "becoming effective" and "to impose effects" on other lines. But I don't know, it's a bit out of common sense, since the hidden lines don't change but they come out of the occult mode, flying as it is often said.
More than an active line it seems to be a special line that can behave or look like as an active line. Active Lines are lines at their yin or yang peak, but invisible lines are not, so it is rare for them to be considered active lines. Weird...

Fu Shen gives birth to Fei Shen,
Person discouraged, Not lucky
Fu Shen subdue Fei Shen,
The name is violent, Good luck
Fei Shen subdue Fu Shen ,
It's hurting the owner, The most fierce.
In the actual application process,
Prosperity and decline of qi is the key force to judge whether the hexagram is good or bad.
therefore, if Useful God is in Fushen this can be good thing and bad one .
If Fushen is wang Xiang by the month and day , or is supported by a moving line or Fei Yao gives birth by supporting,
Or month and day or a moving line are clashed or subdue Fei Shen (.. in case Fei Shen not in support )
Or the Fei Shen is Empty , in Tomb then Fushen is out of Hiding mode and outcome is lucky.
Sometimes Fei Shen is used as a reference basis for inferring the cause of the event.
If Fushen is in prison or dead or in Kongwan or don't have the support of Yuanshen, and on the other hand Fei Shen, or moving line or month and day clashes/ subdue..
Then there will be fierce.
If asking for money.
Will Have no money,
If Asking for an official,
The official is not right,
If Searching for illness,
The illness is difficult to heal.

1. if Fushen is Entombed by the month and day
2. If Fushen is Entombed by Fei Shen (a rare thing ) ..

Hi Tientai, you have mentioned how a certain condition(s) can release Fei Shen. Fei Shen is the Flying God, not the Hidden God. I don't understand the meaning of "release" in the case of Fei Shen.

When Fu Shen is released then Fei Shen is not ..!!
and the reverse is true .. !!
I search now what is Fei Shen's attributes ... perhaps has something to do with Fei Teng (Teng she - flying Serpent in liu Shen ). . perhaps am in error ..!!
