FREE Life Reading Request / Re: Very Unbalanced Chart with Upcoming Challenges
« on: May 12, 2026, 06:03:03 PM »I think he thrives in high pressure environment. Not sure if it is particularly painful as I think any high pressure environment will be kind of painful to most people... I'd say he can take it better than most and can cope with high mental stress.
The fights are usually resolvable, especially these days. It is getting better as both understands each other better along the years and work at the marriage.
His relationship is good with the children. He is a strict parent with them but he shows love and they show love back too.
And no for the last question.
Should be Jia Yin hour then. The biggest smoking gun is the relationship with his children. If Gui Chou hour, the clash would indicate an estranged relationship. But a Jia Yin hour would indicate a positive, mutually supportive relationship. The past 2 years were wood years also. Combined with the Jia Zi luck pillar, may indicate greater capacity for emotional connection via his output (communication). If there is a Chou Wei clash with the spouse palace, it's less likely this would be the case.
Technically Singapore should apply a 35 minute adjustment to those born before 1982, so he could be a gui chou hour, but there are things that could factor into the time being recorded early, like did the nurse record the time accurately, whether the nurse considered time of birth the moment the baby's head is visible or when he took his first breath, C-section etc. I usually go by the person's lived experience over recorded time.

« on: May 12, 2026, 05:27:54 PM »Hi all
F, 21 august 1997, 1343hrs, Singapore
Still don't know what to do with career. As per subject heading, feel that I have no ability or capacity to contribute meaningfully. Want to do post-graduate studies, but also don't know what or when to studyAppreciate any of your insightful comments, thanks for taking the time to read
You have a really good run of luck pillars in your life from age 26 to 75. A weak chart that benefits from resource and peer elements, which you encounter from now till age 75. Even the metal authority element should be good for you if accompanied by water.
Because you're a weak chart, wealth is not a favourable element for you. You have to use Resource. What this means is avoid "Wealth" industries like venture capital, property, ecommerce etc. Nursing is a good resource industry. You benefit from gaining specialized knowledge (resource) rather than from industries that require and generate capital (wealth).
If you want to stay in nursing, can consider becoming an instructor, go into management/healthcare administration, become an NP or CRNA.
If not, other Resource fields can be academia, research, HR, policy analyst, civil service etc. Anything that requires credentials. You can do well in large, structured institutions/companies.

If he really belongs to the Gui Chou pillar, the quality of his chart gets significantly worse, possibly a broken chart structure. He can still make money, but it involves a lot of "clashing" between the zi and chou to free the hidden beneficial elements inside these earth "graveyards". Because all of this happens "underground", the work he does to get there is not as visible as if he had the visible output in his Jia Yin Pillar. It becomes a lot harder for him to unlock his wealth.
The biggest issue with a gui chou hour pillar is that the hai in the upcoming gui hai pillar is no longer distracted by a combination and will clash with the Si in his month pillar. As the month pillar is related to career, it indicates huge instability in his work. If this really is his chart, would advise planning to step back and transition out of high risk, high conflict roles and look at "Resource" roles like teaching, advisory or compliance. Also to stop chasing high risk speculative gain in his investments and move them into safer instruments.
As earth is not a favourable element in his chart, having the wei element in his spouse palace is not really good for either hour. I find unfavourable 7k spouse palaces tend to indicate control/dominance issues between the couple. He might be bringing the aggressive attitude he puts into his work home and treat his spouse/children like his staff. The Gui Chou hour however, is much worse for his relationships because of the chou-wei clash, and because he no longer has the wood to restrain his aggressive 7k energy.
Lived experience is always the most accurate.
Does he thrive in high pressure environments and easily find success? Or he succeeds by grinding through the high pressure, and it's extremely painful for him?
Are any marital issues mostly resolvable friction, or there are frequent bad fights that have you considering divorce? If you have children, how is his relationship with them?
Does he have problems with backstabbing and hidden traps in his career? Like something goes wrong and he has no idea who may have sabotaged him.

« on: May 12, 2026, 11:38:58 AM »That is good to know. I was just looking at the chart and was thinking what all water pillars with a all water decade would mean. I think it either means a high or a low for such an unbalanced chart.
And you are right, he felt that he was not rewarded as fairly for the amount of effort he has put in and did ask for more and was given most times he asked. His current work is full of changes and he seems to be in good position each time there is a big change. More responsibility for sure but not in precarious positions with the changes. And I see him as someone who can handle stress and work in such an environment too.
Currently in 2026, he is really unhappy as he is feeling unappreciated again for his work done last year. Since it is a fire fire year, if I understand you correctly, this is producing more earth and the authority is making feel unhappy at work. Authority = bosses.
Yes. This year his entire earthly branch row got set on fire due to combinations with the Wu horse and the Bing fire supports the transformation. He will see a lot of opportunities for wealth or advancement this year, but the question is whether he can handle them or manage his bosses. My advice is to carefully evaluate the risk of taking new opportunities on, both in terms of financial risk and the risk of burn out. I feel like telling him to chill a bit more this year is very hard lol.

Thank you for your reading and explanation. So it is a very weak chart instead of a follower?
He had a career in military from the age of 23 to 27 before studying for another 2 years to make a career switch to the financial industry, which is no longer in the civil service.
How was the Jia Zi pillar for him? Was it better than the Ding Mao and Bing Yin pillars, or did he have a good career in his 20s/30s and now experiencing problems?
As for the above, in Ding Mao years, he was still a student so I can't compare career wise. In Bing Yin Pillar, he was doing well in military but I would say that it seems like he is doing even better in his late 30's until now. Currently, it is high stress but high returns kind of job comparing to the previous one. He is facing some challenges but is not in a bad spot. His job often requires problem solving so I wouldn't say the problem is big for now.
Is there anything specific that I can verify with? Over the course of the past 10 years or so, he has risen in ranks through promotions which I think is good in terms of career.
Based on those details, I would say should be weak. If he was a follower, the current luck pillar would be quite bad for his chart because the Zi gives his Gui dm roots, which breaks the follow structure. Then the Jia directly attacks the 7k earth in his chart. If he's doing even better than the previous luck pillars, then confirm the wood/water pillar is strengthening him to the point where it is easier for him to handle the pressure of the 7k earth.
He can do well in the fire/wood luck pillars because the wood was helping him, but the fire burns the wood and produces more earth. Can do well, but a bit of a vicious cycle like, he exert effort (wood output) which then feeds the fire (wealth result) which then creates more earth (authority that his wood has to fight off). Most likely he was rewarded for his efforts with promotions, but the new rank adds on more responsibility and stress. My guess is the fire/wood decade was a very high stress period where he felt like the rewards were not proportional to the effort he had to put in.
This kind of 7k-heavy chart structure tend to do well in high stakes, high stress jobs. "Martial Nobility" usually literally refers to military status, but if you think about the energies involved, anything that is high stakes, high conflict or involves resolving crises can qualify. Finance jobs definitely fall into this category.
The extreme imbalance of his chart is what makes him built for material success, but it's not a peaceful one. The constant stress and conflict is exactly what drives him to succeed. If you put him in a peaceful admin job, even if it pays him well he will likely get bored or become very frustrated.
He will likely do even better in the Gui Hai pillar. The Gui gives him peer support while the Hai and Yin combine to form wood, which is the element that controls his 7 killings and simultaneously mitigates the Si-Hai clash with his chart.

My opinion is it's a very weak chart. It looks like a follow chart because there are no lifelines, but the wood in the hour fights with the earth in the chart, which gives the DM space to breathe.
The conditions in the 渊海子平 for a follow the leader structure is:
且如⼄⽇,⽀⻅⺒⾣丑,⾦局⼤胜⼜⽆制杀,⾝主⽆⽓,只得舍 ⾝⽽从之。
It uses the example of an Yi Wood DM, but the principle for follow the leader is no lifelines and no control on the killings (⽆制杀). Wood controls earth, and it's strong, rooted wood in his hour pillar.
For his particular DM + Hour pillar, the 三命通会 indicates the wood is what makes his chart destined for status and authority in favourable pillars.
癸未日甲寅时,主秀实,中年贵显。若生己未己巳年月, 武贵
"A Gui Wei Day born in the Jia Yin Hour indicates someone who is exceptionally talented yet practical, achieving nobility and prominence in middle age. If born in the Year and Month of Ji Wei and Ji Si, martial nobility."
有庚申戊己 字,无制伏,不贵
"If there is Geng, Shen, Wu, Ji without control, not noble"
The 三命通会 isn't always accurate because the annex tends to analyze mainly the day and hour pillars only, but am curious if this chart holder is in the military or a related branch of the civil service?
But ultimately it's the life experience that proves the structure. How was the Jia Zi pillar for him? Was it better than the Ding Mao and Bing Yin pillars, or did he have a good career in his 20s/30s and now experiencing problems?

Thanks for your input npc. Yes, the male chart DM depends on whether you correct the hour pillar or not. IF Xin DM, then Mao is indirect wealth.
I'm not ever predicting parent's death to the children, this is purely a theoretical contemplation. These are my own children. And yes indeed, my daughter is a weak DM's with both possible hour pillars, so I'm guessing she will need elemental help from luck pillars to handle her wealth. My son is a balanced DM if he's considered Xin chart - but otherwise a weak DM.
To determine the proper hour pillar then requires the location of birth, but understand if you don't wish to give that info out.
Assuming your son is the Xin chart, I would still consider it weak. He is born out of season and his metal doesn't have a root. At first glance, it does look like the sheer amount of earth should strengthen the dm, but it creates the issue of 土重金埋 (too much earth buries the metal) instead.
What this means is despite being a weak chart, 2 of his 3 favourable elements are similar to a strong chart - Wood to break up the earth burying his metal, and water to wash the Xin metal/jewelry. Metal is a good supporting element that gives his Xin metal the strength to dig out of the earth.
The reason to possibly look at it as a weak chart requiring "medicine" that's different from the standard prescription of resource/peer elements is that the psychology of a weak dm is different from a strong dm, so how they manage issues is different.
Does he achieve his best results when resources are provided for him, or does he step up and truly show his power when he is forced to figure things out entirely on his own?
Does he thrive and become highly disciplined when placed under strict rules and authority figures? Or does pressure and strict authority cause him to withdraw and lose his motivation?

Thank you for input. High HO people try not to be working under others. Instead, be own boss or self employed. Which I intend to do so soon.
Last year was yi si year, the si snake clashes with the hai pig in your luck pillar. <-- when did I have Hai pig in my luck pillar?
Oh I apologize, I accidentally input female in the calculator instead of male, so it calculated the female luck pillars instead. That's why I suggested finding ways to thrive in a job rather than start your own business, even with a strong HO.
This completely changes my interpretation. Yes, the next 2 decades should be among the best in your life and are very good for doing business. Best of luck with whatever you do!

Hi I don't have the time atm to really analyze their charts, but from a glance, it doesn't look like the boy's chart is an indirect wealth chart - the mao wood in his chart is direct wealth. If anything it's a direct wealth structure. The girl has an indirect wealth structure. Both of them have charts that indicate a well-resourced childhood.
Indirect wealth can also mean wealth from investments, parents, spouse, business etc. It doesn't just mean the parents' wealth.
Generally, bazi should not be used to predict deaths - saying the parents might die early because of their children's charts is wrong and can definitely affect their relationship.
All that said, having a wealth structure doesn't necessarily mean they will be rich as it depends on the interaction of the wealth elements in their chart. They are both weak dms, so whether they can "carry" the wealth requires analysis. I mostly just wanted to point out indirect wealth doesn't necessarily always mean inheritance.

I don't know a lot about zwds, but I just need to correct the part about 伤官伤尽 in bazi, which I use - the OP's chart absolutely does not qualify for that structure. There are 2 direct officer stars in the chart, one on the heaven stem and one on the spouse palace. 伤官伤尽 requires no officer stars even in the hidden stems.
Also, I apologize in advance because what I am going to say next is not going to be very positive.
Your bazi chart would be classified as a very weak daymaster with severe Hurting Officer (HO) sees Direct Officer (伤官见官) clash in the month pillar. The typical interpretation would be that you tend to experience issues in your career due to problems with bosses, and have difficulty staying in jobs.
The water in your spouse palace combines away into earth, also your HO, which removes the HO sees DO clash from the spouse palace, but still indicate relationship issues.
You are intelligent and can produce good work, but it drains you severely. This could lead to saying things that might offend people because you're "just being honest", being hyper critical, coming off as arrogant/disruptive or simply taking your temper out on others when you run out of patience, saying very cutting things to hurt the person.
The "cure" for this clash is to introduce the wood resource element to control the earth HO. Weak DMs with strong HOs should use resource. Resource can represent wisdom, discipline education, support from parents/mentors or even just institutional support.
Irl, how this works out would be to seek out education in specialized areas, so you have the knowledge to strategize around obstacles in your field of work, work for a large institution (water/officer) whose rules can feed your education/credentials (wood/resource) which then strengthens you. Find a mentor you respect who can guide you and keep you grounded. You can make a good living by being a respected expert within the institution, which will also help with managing your HO.
My master once told me about a client of his with a weak DM and strong HO who complained he kept losing his jobs. Mostly because he pissed his bosses off by constantly finding fault with the company's systems and colleagues' work. My master advised him to just do his work, take money and go home, he say cannot, if he sees something wrong he must say. It wasn't until he got older and mellowed down, then he stopped needing to constantly criticize and be right. Then he managed to stay in his job.
For 2018 - it was a wu xu year, the dog formed a "bullying punishment" with your goat and ox in the earthly branches. The issues may be related to being trapped in a toxic environment like a hostile workplace or any kind of abusive relationship you can't easily remove yourself from, like between a spouse, colleagues, parents etc. Then the people involved might backstab or unfairly blame you for issues.
Last year was yi si year, the si snake clashes with the hai pig in your luck pillar. This tends to create external circumstances that causes instability in your life, like being forced to relocate, change job or abandon set life plans because something in the environment changed.
Your chart has issues, but in bazi, no chart without "sickness" can be extraordinary. The key is finding the "medicine" for it, whether it's something you develop yourself, or it's something your luck cycles bring.
One thing I learned reading bazi charts is that they really can manifest in any number of ways. If the above doesn't fit your experience, feel free to let me know!

FREE Life Reading Request / Re: When this chart can get married?
« on: March 27, 2026, 09:41:31 AM »
Please note I am a novice and have not yet finished my course. I'm just putting what I learned out here and seeing if I can read the chart correctly. I understand the admin here is a Mangpai practitioner while I learned from a master who teaches the Zi Ping school, so hope it's fine to utilize what I'm familiar with. I'm happy to hear about where I might be mistaken or differences in how such charts are read!
If I am reading this right, you have a good bazi chart. All your earthly branches combine into metal, and even the wood element in the heavenly stems combine into metal. In essence, your chart falls under a special "Vibrant" or "Dominant" category.
This makes your favourable elements in order of importance:
1) Water (Useful God)
2) Metal (Favourable God)
3) Earth (Favourable God)
Your unfavourable elements are:
1) Fire (Attacks/Clashes Metal)
2) Wood (Attacks Earth, produces Fire)
Your spouse star is favourable to your chart, and your spouse palace supports your self element, so it's likely you will find a good marriage with a capable husband who can support you.
Now we look at your luck cycles, which look generally good. Yours are all pure favourable or mixed. No purely bad luck pillars. At the end of the day, however, everything depends on your actions. If you have a favourable luck cycle but don't use it to do anything, things might go smoothly for you, but you may not feel like you did much or got much results.
The poem in the san ming tong hui indicates: "Difficult to prosper in your youth, do not force it. After passing middle age, one will sit peacefully in high halls with white hair.". This is supported by your luck pillars.
It looks like your early years may have been frustrating. It looks like you were ok materially in that your needs were taken care of, but your creative expression, ideas etc were not encouraged or recognized. Especially since they may have been seen as unconventional, rebellious or rude.
The period from 11 to 20 were good for you. Given your age and your chart, it points to someone who did well in school or at an academic pursuit rather than doing well in a job or business.
The most favourable time in your life looks to be from 31 to 50. I think how good they are will likely depend on what you do now, but they will be generally good.
Your current luck pillar is yang water over yang earth, from 21 to 30. Water controls unfavorable fire. It looks like you can earn well in this decade, but you might be expending a lot of money to make that wealth, or you might lose it to poor decisions.
Fire generates earth, your spouse star, so it's also quite possible you might find no problem getting into relationships this decade. Do exercise caution, however, as fire is unfavourable to your chart. Don't lose or let yourself be "evaporated" by a relationship.
You might get married during earth years (years ending with 8 or 9), especially yang earth (years ending with
. Years where the dog element appears (2030, 2042) are also favourable.
Remember you can always choose to get together with someone and marry at any time, just exercise judgement about whether he is the one. Your chart looks like there are plenty of opportunities to meet men over your life if you want to, but you might also experience a complicated love life.
Again, if any master would like to correct me or disagree with my reading, please do so!

Ah, thank you for your analysis! Your note that the chart interacts with time pillars is a great realisation for me.
Yes, you are very accurate in how those years played out for me. 2020 and 2021 doubled my business revenue while maintaining similar costs, which made me a lot of money. However, once the re was wood in the earthly branch in 2022 and 2023 (Ren Yin and Gui Mao), the business peaked in revenue but I just broke even due to extra costs, then I made some bad decisions that I'm paying for today.
2016 was ok but I was sort of "drifting" due to some past business failures.
