example : Yongshen not having a root basis

自占病，世爻亥水為用神，被未土忌神動而剋水，
Someone divine for his own illness,the Useful God [Yongshen ] is on Shi self Hai water line, by the Jealous God [Jishen ] Wei earth moving and subdue [ke ] water.

幸得元神酉金亦動，忌神未土反生元神之酉金，金生亥水，接續相生，化凶而為吉矣。
It is lucky that there is a You metal Primordial God [Yuanshen ] moving line, Jealous God [Jishen ] Wei earth [5th line ] return to give strength to You metal Primordial God [Yuanshen ], this metal can produce Hai water, by continuously engendering, even taken [help ] from vicious [ Jealous God [Jishen ] Wei earth 5th changed line] this is lucky.

豈知亥水，月沖日剋，值月破而被剋，如樹無根，雖有生扶，奈生之不起何，果卒於卯日。
But is Hai water, with the month EB Clash - Break [Chong - Po ] and day subduing [Ke ], as a tree not having a root basis, although there is producing support, this produce cannot help to raise up, and indeed died on a Mao wood Day. 

應卯日者，沖去元神之日也。此謂之「用神無根，元神有力亦難生」。

Very scary to predict your own death!   My additional points on this interesting but morbid case:

This is an example of 併傷 double-harm, because
1) Si Month breaks Hai, and
2) sixth changed line Si clashes Hai.
A very dangerous situation, because Hai represents the diviner himself.

The following is a bit similar to Bazi: sixth line Si is in Kong Wang (Emptiness), but Si obtains the Month Qi.   So, when it gets out of Kong Wang, Si will do its job of clashing Hai.  Too bad the text did not specify which Mao day that the person died.

FYI. My translation of the case study using the 1691AD version of Zengshan Buyi (ZSBY) (see ZSBY-3 pdf in https://fivearts.org/index.php?topic=1985.0):

Example: Si month, Yi Wei day. Person divining about own illness. Obtained Lake-Wind Great Exceeding [L/X], transforming to Fire-Wind Cauldron [F/X].

Person divining about own illness. Subject line Hai water is Useful God. But Wei earth Fearful God is moving, countering the water. Fortunately, You metal Source God is also moving. Fearful God Wei earth, contrarily, produces Source God You metal. Metal produces Hai water. Continuous production would change inauspicious into auspicious!

豈知亥水。月沖日剋。値月破而被剋。雖有生扶。生之不起。如樹無根。寒谷不囘春也。
What about Hai water?s month clashing or day countering? On-duty Month Breaker, so it is countered. Although have produce-assist, producing does not start. Just like a tree without roots, cold valley [i.e. winter] not returning to spring.

果卒于癸卯日。
Result: He died on Gui Mao day.

應卯日者。沖去元神之日。此謂之用神無根。元神有力亦難生。
Response on Mao day [as it is a] clashed Source God day. This is described as ?Useful God without roots?. Source God has strength yet difficult to be producing.
