Various technical questions
« on: October 11, 2020, 10:50:30 PM »
Several issues often pose a difficulty for me, and I guess other beginners at Liu Yao are confronted with this.
In theory an active line can establish the four basic types of relationships: Sheng, Ke, Chong, Liu He.

Could it be that there is some priority of those 4 types of relationships?, something like this: Sheng>Ke; Liu He>Chong

For example, here I asked how it would go to hire a telecommunications service, last year's query.

Yin wood on the first line can clash (Chong) with Shen metal, but at the same time it could give birth (Sheng) to Wu fire and control (ke) to Chen earth. So we have three possible relationships. Would there be any priority not to get lost in the analysis? The clash Shen-Yin (chong) could be a priority or the relevant?

I also seemed to read that more energy is spent on controlling than on generating, therefore a weak line could only generate and not control. As in this case Yin wood is a weak line, and clashed by the Shen month could be considered broken (Po). But imagine it was a strong line in Mao or Yin Month. Could it, this Yin wood line, clash to Shen metal line and also generate Wu fire and also control Chen earth? Or perhaps the Liu He and Chong take priority over the functions of Sheng and Ke?

I think there is also the proximity factor, as in feng shui the proximity of the line to another one takes its role. So in this hexagram as an example the closest thing for Mao is to control Chen. Or perhaps more than distance is its influence on the relevant lines? Self, Other, Yong Shen...

And one extra question. Is this Liu He of Si fire (changed line) with Shen metal removes the blockage of the six clash hexagram? To break the blockage, any Liu He of the first hexagram with the second removes the blockage?

I agree with the idea that all is there, just need to figure out what part of it you need and is important at the moment.
For example if 2 lines clash, we would rarely comment on the control part, even though all lines that clash are in control relation except earth.
So there is the idea that the clash is clearer to see, yet it doesn't nulify the control thing, its just more meaningful for what we read, as what control means is already covered by the meaning of clash most of the time.

The priority should be the lines you are interested in, shouldn't it?
So if it clashes with a random line you don't care about, but it produces the Focus, the produce will suddenly become much more important. : )

Look at the events and relate to that otherwise its difficult to be sure.
Line clashes with boss line - problems with boss.
In produces co-worker line - helps his co-workers
Combines with Asset - maybe obtains some wealth in the process.

Its strength will determine how much effort and opportunity it has of doing that well, yet it is there depending on what is your Focus, so what part you have to look at.

Sure. Self and other are always in the same distance, but all the other stuff has meaning(Focus close to you, or focus close to the other Trigram etc.)
Its also ways to find the Focus if you have multiple instances of it in the hex.

Puppy used something like this, in practice you can again just follow the meaning...
The line is clashing you initially, then is combining with you - what that would mean in a situation?
It would really depend on the line and the Focus you have chosen(and how you made the hex, as this seems to be important, lately).
