Fivearts.org is one year old!
(we forgot to mention it last December 28!)
I would like to celebrate it by republishing this translation of mine of an Italian text written by a friend.
My best wishes to all of you 🍃🌹
To my Imaginary Friend
I wish you an acute sight, to predict storms; and a firm hand to govern the boat of your destiny.
I wish you a refined palate, to appreciate countless delicacies, and a sharp ear to listen to your forgotten voice.
I wish you always the possibility and the courage to choose, together with the strength to bear the consequencies of it. But above all, I wish you the courage to change your decisions, once you've outgrown them.
I wish you the courage to undo and redesign your goals towards new temporary destinations, so that your journey never ends.
I wish you a thousand and one oceans, which you will sail by drawing routes onto your soul.
I wish you a crazy wind blowing in your face and messing up the sails of your existence, so that your spirit never gets tired of immobility.
I wish you to be vulnerable, so that life can touch you.
I wish you to be curious and impatient, so that your mind will always have something to contemplate.
I wish you boredom and confusion, they will spur you to find solutions and to discover new talents.
I wish you the wind of madness and the sun lighting up your gaze.
I wish you women's smiles and I wish you an ocean of love to besiege the island of your heart.
I wish you tears when you need to cry, because from those tears, stars of freedom and galaxies of understanding will be born.
I wish you loneliness and silence so that, from the depths of your past, all your forgotten lives can re-emerge and be healed.
I wish you get what you like and, above all, what you need.
I wish you to live this year all in one breath.
