Will my walk be successfull tomorrow?

Hi,

I've just started practicing Weng Wang Gua, so I would like you to help me guys. This is a simple question I asked tomorrow for me to quickly see and check how it works. The question (asked yesterday) was: will my meeting (walk) with a girlfriend tomorrow be successfull? The idea behind this question is whether I'll have positive or negative vibes. That's what I got:



Could you give me your ideas on how to decipher this, please?

At this moment I see that my Self (Asset) line is moving, which is good. However it's void, which is bad.

In both hexagrams, all the lines combine - 1 and 4, 2 and 5, 3 and 6.

Thank you for your reply! The first question is: could you explain me a "match changing to another match" thing, please? I was unable to find it in Alex Chiu's book. Could you probably give me a chapter name, please?
Second: OK, so we have: a) moving line (+); b) matching hexagram (+); c) weak element.

How can I determine strength of first two points? I mean, that the element weakness might be so bad that even first two things won't make a positive end of the event coming.

No. I have established relationship with this gf, and my question was whether I will get a joy of this walk. I mean, girls sometimes can make you bad when talking about things you don't like. I was asking about the overall result of the event.

Sorry, I didn't really get it. Why is it difficult to read this hexagram? Yeah, I'll tell you the result, I just don't want it to spoil my learning process. The event itself happenned yesterday, the cast had been two days earlier.

Imagine she was your boss.
Would you look for her on Officer line or on Asset line(potential girlfriend)?
What if she was also a class mate you spend many years with in school when younger.
Will she be on Sibling as well?
Or on Other line?

What do you think will decide where she will be?


Obviously, we can't read it if we do not know where she is, unless there is some events that we can connect with most possible position she could be in.

Sadly, there are some reasons now that we must write in most "questioning" way and less "reading" way. I'm fine with that, at least we know what we were suppose to ask.

Oh, thanks for clarifying. Sorry for the confusion, I wrote "girlfriend" in my initial message, and I thought it was clear that she's a girlfriend. So, answering your question: she's an "established" girlfriend already I've been having relationship for a few months. And I would look for the "Wife / Wealth" line for her in my hexagram.

OK, my particular question was not about our relationship in general, but about the  next day I had an appointment with her. I will of course share my thoughts about how it happenned, I just don't want to spoil it earlier in any way, because it's very interesting for me to listen to your thoughts in order to understand how to do proper WWG divination.

So, based on what I currently see:

a) My Subject line (this is me myself if I understand correctly) is the Focus of Spirit (Asset / Wealth) which is good
b) My Subject line is moving which is good
c) My Subject line is in VOID which is bad
d) Both hexagrams are combo ones which is good
e) The Object line (my girlfriend) is not Asset, which is bad
f) The Object line is moving, which is good
g) The Object line is in void, which is bad.

That line is clashed by both day and month and is also on black tortoise.
Up to you how you would read that, but I doubt she will have a good time. : )

Now to your last reply: yeah, the 5th Asset line is clashed by Day. But do we have to look at this line, considering that this is NOT the Object line? And sorry, what is the relationship between Tortoise and this line? Briefly of course, just could you give me a correct section for me to look for it?

I'm not sure where we have the animals with nice explanations. I have some memory of tientai making good translation of some classic about them, but I can't see it here, could be in the other place. They are in most books on the topic and its very similar explanation.

AK has nice images of them, but I'm not sure if they are in the book or the youtube video material.
Overall Tortoise is all connected to water element + something hidden and not entirely right.

Why line on tortoise that may be connected to the question and is very weak and broken by day and month matter...

In any case, usually should move on after first wrong guess when we are doing the guessing thing, so since the walk with her actually went and she stayed in it, this isn't really for me.

OK, thanks for the clarification. Now I understand that my question wasn't very clear. Well... The result of my walk would be my MOOD. The thing I don't really *LOVE* this girl, I'm just passionate about her, so quite often she complains about it. And that's what I was asking about: what would be my mood at the end of the day? Would I regret about this walk and rather stay home, or it would be more or less okay.

As you understand, I'm just doing this for my WWG practice, and I'm just a newbie here, so I make errors with non-specific questions like this, however in my opinion I would be able to get an answer to my question.

OK, I've explained the connection with her above. Sorry, but I didn't really understand why this "is not really for you". I'm sorry if I offended you somehow, there was no intention at all. So, let me tell you how the walk went: at first she started talking about our realtionship. And she was saying things that made me depressed. I wanted this walk to be fun and easy, but it wasn't. But the end of the day was good: we went to a cheap Chinese restaurant where I didn't spend much, and I got good emotions when she lay on my shoulder and combed my hair.

So, in my opinion this walk was quite bad for her, and for me it was mixed, like 65% BAD and 35% GOOD.

What is your definition of positive or negative vibes?

My mood at the end of the day. Gentlemen, if possible, and you have time, I would kindly appreciate if you look at my algorithm deciphering hexagram I've outlined above. Could you tell me a few things whether it's right or wrong? Thanks.

Its all good, but there is that idea that we read guessing how you think about the situation(what will be where, how it will work etc.)
And for that to work we have to think in a similar way. So I ask some stuff, if it doesn't fit to reality then the way you made the hex doesn't fit to how I would think about it, so no point going more into it, its very likely it will happen again in the next step.

In general, its suitability, we guess - if the guess isn't right no point going into details about it. No one is offended, just a suitability thing on how we make the hex.

About the reading, I guess you can use something like that, although it seems too complex and there are much easier ways to measure that.
Also the "good/bad" part can be misleading, even if you stack 50 goods/bads I'm not sure you will arrive at a detailed answer to anything. But for % I guess it can work, so overall I don't know I don't use that and I think its too complex for what you are using it for, yet I can't provide easier way for variety of reasons, so I guess it could work?

Its a little like the good old examples of using a computer to hammer a nail. It could work, its not made for that, it would be uncomfortable and may brake something on the way. Could do the job, but also has so much more potential it would be difficult to describe in the situation. But it could work I guess,depending how you make the good/bad rules.

Exactly, but I'm just a newbie here, so I decided to use my daily routine as simple material for WWG divination, because I want to learn, and IMHO such small examples are excellent to learn WWG at my starting level. For instance, I've given my algo above. Is it right? Is it wrong? Is something missing? Or maybe this forum isn't intended for such things, I don't know, really. I don't to offend anyone, I'm just seeking for help, because WWG is a complex thing, and I learn it by books. If that's a wrong place for seeking help - please let me know. Because I would like to see someone skilled like you, Gmuli, analyze my hex. You may interpret it as you wish, but at least you will go through all the algorithm, and I would make sure that I don't forget anything.

Other members can provide what they are using, it can help a lot from the point you are currently in. With the styles in the classic texts and what is in the open you can make a style that can read most questions, there will always be something missing and it won't be as accurate as you may want it to be, but it will work.

AK is also an option the book is very affordable and as I mention I can recommend his course, even though I'm not technically on it, I wouldn't do it if I didn't knew its worth it.

There are other sources as well. In my humble opinion the 2 sources that are worth learning from at this point would be The Monk and A.K.
Both won't provide all they know freely in the open, I would guess, but if I were you I would try to get what I can from The Monk while you have the chance. : )

I guess it was The Monk who wrote that divination is 50% mathematics, and 50% art. I want to learn basics (math) first. That's why I would like to have a working algo.

Thanks, that's a good point of view. The polar (yes/no) questions just seemed easy for me to start with, that's the only reason I've chosen it over other ones.
