The first time I heard about Yukio was the book "the sound of waves" which was taught as literature book in my singapore school

his writing is really smooth and easy to read, a bit tinged with sexuality too, but not so much, it depicts the life of the fisherman in the japan era

also common is the idea of a "superman", or the main protagonist
