Which is the better career option?
« on: October 23, 2025, 02:29:42 AM »
Hello forumers, hoping someone can help me. I don’t know how to cast for divination… would it be possible to do the reading through QMDJ (or some other method) with my birthday (July 5, 1986, 10:01 AM, Honolulu, female)?

I started a new job in a new field (government job) in May but the salary is half of what I made in my hospitality jobs. However, it was difficult to get my foot in the door in hospitality since I have moved back to my home state (I was living in a different state for 12 years).

I am being asked to join a hospitality company here (they asked me 2 days ago). The position will be one step lower than my previous hotel position, but it will also be $40,000 more than my current government job.

Would it be better for me long-term to stay at the government job or go back to working in hotels?

Thank you!

HI Magpie,

Divination request generally are not done with the date of birth. The divination casting or setup mainly uses the time
that the query question was formed and time of divination request (casting a hexagram, plotting a QMDJ chart, or
requesting a person to provide the divination).

In this case, the time you posted on this forum could be used as the initiation time.

These resources may be helpful:
Casting a hexagram → https://fivearts.org/index.php?topic=1620.0
Plotting a QMDJ chart → https://bazi-calculator.com/calcQMDJ.php

Your query question is appears interesting. It seems you may be asking if you should stay with the job that possibly offers long-term stability
or take the money in a possibly more volatile environment.

===> based on the 3 sets of nos that u PM me : 7 19  56 dated 24/10/2025  ===>gua map link :https://bbs.mychat.to/mp.php?v=ZbbqBJ

see below I Jing gua map interpretation.===> Based on the specific I Ching divination chart you provided, here is an interpretation regarding your career question.

Important Note: This is a sophisticated reading from a traditional Chinese divination system. The interpretation is based on the symbols and their classical meanings. This is for cultural insight and reflection, not a definitive prediction.

Summary of the Reading

The chart indicates you are in a significant period of transition and transformation. The core message is about moving from a state of travel and temporary sojourn towards a state of stability, purpose, and established value.

Here is a breakdown of the key elements:

1. The Original Hexagram (本卦): 旅 (Lǚ) - "The Traveler" or "Sojourn"

•   This hexagram, Fire over Mountain, perfectly captures a feeling of being "on the road" or in a transitional phase.

•   Mountain represents obstacles, stillness, or a barrier. Fire above it represents clarity, scrutiny, and ambition. You may feel your progress is being tested or is currently slow, but you maintain a clear vision of your goals.

•   This hexagram often relates to being away from home, dealing with foreign environments, and needing adaptability. In a career context, this could describe the dynamic, customer-facing, and often transient nature of hotel work.

2. The Changing Line and The Resulting Hexagram (變卦): 鼎 (Dǐng) - "The Cauldron"

•   A single line in the Traveler hexagram is changing (dynamic), which transforms the entire situation into the Cauldron hexagram, Fire over Wind.

•   This is a very positive shift. The Cauldron is a sacred vessel used for cooking and offering. It symbolizes:

    ◦   Stability and Establishment: A cauldron is firmly placed. It represents creating something of lasting value and securing a stable position.

    ◦   Transformation through Nourishment: Just as food is transformed in a cauldron, you are in a process of "cooking" your skills and experiences into something more substantial and nourishing for your future.

    ◦   Receiving Recognition: The cauldron was used in rituals; this can imply that your work will be recognized and valued in a formal structure.

3. Direct Comparison for Your Dilemma

•   "The Traveler" (Hotel Work Analogy): This path is associated with movement, adaptability, serving a flowing clientele, and potentially less long-term stability. It aligns with the "journey" of the original hexagram. The changing line suggests that if you are in this environment, it is meant to be a phase of learning that leads to transformation.

•   "The Cauldron" (Government Work Analogy): This path is strongly aligned with the resulting hexagram. It suggests a structured, stable environment where you can build a lasting legacy. It implies a role where you can be a crucial "vessel" within a bigger system, leading to recognition and a sense of established purpose.

Conclusion and Advice

The divination strongly suggests that the long-term, more favorable path points to the one that offers greater stability and the opportunity to build something enduring—which, in this reading, aligns more closely with the characteristics of the government job.

Key Considerations:
•   The transformation from "Traveler" to "Cauldron" indicates that the experiences you've had (perhaps in the hotel industry or other roles) have prepared you for this more stable phase.

•   The "Fire" element is prominent in both hexagrams. This means your passion, intelligence, and clarity of vision are your greatest assets. Whichever path you choose, ensure it allows your inner "fire" to shine and transform your environment.

•   Do not see the "Traveler" as a negative sign. It is a necessary stage. The reading implies you are now ready to leave the "road" and establish your "cauldron."

Final Suggestion: Introspect on what "stability" and "purpose" mean to you. The symbols point towards the government role as the more stabilizing and structurally rewarding option in the long run. However, your personal alignment with the work's nature is crucial for the "fire" to burn brightly.
