断曰:此医不可用之。
Duan said: this Medicinal [drug ] is not in use .
虽系子孙持世,应为医人,但不宜初爻巳火动克申金,又有卯木生火,世爻虽旺,巳日一定添灾。
If Offspring holding Self yao , other [2nd yao] is for Medical doctor, still inappropriate for 1st moving Si yao to subdue Shen metal Self yao, also there is a Mao wood [ moving 2nd yao ] to generate fire, Self yao on Flourishing [QI phase ], on Si day [EB] surely will increase disaster.
不听,竟延此医治之。
By not obeying, indeed has delayed this medical treatment.
卯辰日服药,还保平安,巳日忽然变症,遍身疼痛难当。
From Mao to Chen day branch took the medicine, and so guard to be safe, but on Si day suddenly changed to disease, over all body there is sore distress.
病人着急而问余曰:可伤命否?
The sick person worried and asking Master Yu : can this [disease } injure my life ?
余曰:世值月建,如何伤命?速服解药,过此巳午日则止疼矣。
Master Yu said: Self [life ] is validated on Monthly foundation, how can injure your life ? quickly take this Medicinal drug, and living [ getting along ] on Si Year one day will stop the Sore hurts [you].
即服解药,至申日,其病如常。
This Medicinal drug, taken on Shen day, but his illness is as always.
野鹤曰:前篇俱言子孙持世,其病即愈,然必要子孙不受克方可,后贤不可不知。
Wild Crane said: on first chapter is written that offspring holding Self yao, this illness even if healed, is essential important offspring not to accept very harmful medicinal prescription, after that is worthy that you know it.
李我平曰:此论官鬼为忧神,子孙为喜悦解忧之神,虽系古法,然用之甚当,非合鬼神之机,不能幻想至此。
Li Wo Ping said : this doctrine to take Officer / Ghost as worrying [ anxious ] God , and Offspring as happy God that removing worry, even if this is ancient law, is suitable to use it rightly, not connecting medical care with supernatural beings [ Ghosts ] , should not fantastic believe this so far.
然又有不以鬼作忧神者,全在来人念之所指。
So again not using Ghost as a worrying God, every time someone visiting you to read [by divination ] and point out.
彼若问病之凶吉,倘鬼爻持世、鬼动卦中,则为忧神;
If someone asks for illness if ominous or lucky, in case Ghost holds Self yao, and Ghost is on moving or inner [bottom] trigram, this principle is as a worrying [Anxious ] God.
子持世、子动卦中,则为解忧喜悦之神。
Offspring holding Self moving yao or in lower trigram, this principle is as a happy God that removing worry.
彼若问病犯是何鬼神,倘卦现金鬼,必冲犯于武神;
When someone asks for an illness attacking him what kind of Ghost God is , in this case in the hexagram :
Metal [earthly branch ] holding Ghost, certainly offending by Clashing just as a Martial God.
水鬼,必获罪于河神之类。
Water [earthly branch ] holding Ghost, certainly catching fault from river God and similar kind.
彼若问病源,卦现火鬼,必属心经;
When someone asks for cause of disease, in the hexagram appear the fire God, certainly affiliated with Heart Channel [TCM ]
水鬼,必居肾部。
Water [earthly branch ] holding Ghost, certainly [disease is ] on Kidneys section.
子孙旺而动者,不药而愈,非教人以此子孙为治病之药也,往往前贤见此子孙旺动,占病病愈,占医医良,遂以此子孙爻为治病之药。
When Offspring is in flourishing qi phase and moving, without medicine there is recovering, don't teach this theory to people when offspring is moving and treating an illness with medicinals, frequently is of principal worth to see this offspring yao in flourishing qi phase and moving, deciphering that illness is recovering, and Medical care and medicinals are properly good, and satisfy with this offspring yao as treating illness with medicinals,
金生子孙者,断用针;
When metal produce offspring yao , abstain to use
Acupuncture ;
火持子孙者,断用灸。
When fire holding offspring yao , abstain to use
Moxibustion (TCM)
殊不知子孙若旺,其病自痊,何用针灸?
Very few realized
that when offspring is in flourishing qi phase , and if illness will recover [itself ], what the use of
Acupuncture or Moxibustion ?子孙若值空破,用针灸而何益?
Even when offspring happen to be on Empty days or on break [Po ], what is the benefit by using
Acupuncture or Moxibustion ? [/size]on ?诸书又皆曰:“火鬼忌热,水鬼忌寒,水鬼若居生旺之地,须大热之药以治之;
All books said : “on fire element the Ghost [yao ] fearing heat, on water Ghost fearing cold:
If water Ghost take strength in flourishing qi phase , wait [ you have to take ] a medicine with Great Heat nature as a control principle ;
火鬼旺者,宜大寒之剂以攻之。”
If fire Ghost take strength in flourishing qi phase, wait [you have to take ] a medicine with Great cold nature dose accordingly.
余不知从何所见。
If one dont know where to start seeing.
假使用神属土,及子占父病,父爻临土,若得火鬼发动,乃生用爻之元神也,岂可用大寒之药而治元神耶?
If useful God [Yong Shen ] is on earth branch element , and a son is divine for his father's illness , when father yao facing earth branch element, seem as getting fire Ghost to mobilize [fa dong ] , then by producing useful yao this [fire Ghost ] is the source God also, how permit using Great cold as medicinal and manage this source God [yuan shen ] ?
又如妻占夫病,鬼为用神,假便夫临水鬼,又可以大热之药以攻夫爻之用神耶?
Also if a wife divine for her husband illness, taking Ghost as Useful God , i borrow to say that husband facing water Ghost, also not be bad to take Great heat nature as medicine so as attacking her husband useful God [Yong Shen ] yao ?
每见穷乡僻壤,无处觅医.
If someone is in a remote desolate place, nowhere can find medicines
只谓《周易》乃大圣大贤之书,遵之必灵,而卜者以此大寒大热之药胶柱决之,不知坑陷如许之命,言及发指。
Just read the ((Zhou Yi - a Yijing Book) ) Great sages said how worth is this book, by observing its departed soul (Ling ) [effectiveness ??] , and by divining instead of Great cold or great heat as nature of medicine, not knowing where is the pitfall of one's life, words can getting out from mouth easily.
此书一出,而寒热之药不敢轻用,从此泉下无怨鬼矣。
This book fall out, and not dare to use Cold or Heat as nature or medicinals, henceforth blaming Ghost [as something bad ]
[乾按] 此章所论乃医病用药之决断也。
[Qian Commented ] this chapter is a theory for medical doctors make a decision by using medicinals .
子孙为喜神、为医药之辨已明,切勿蹈复辙,泥古而铸大错矣!
Offspring as happy [feeling pleased ] God, as medical care and medicines recognized in Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644 ) openly, by no means fulfill recovering ways, stubbornly sticking to old days and try to find [ by this way ] is a big mistake.
