Hidden Stems and Storages
« on: March 18, 2019, 09:48:15 AM »
I was wondering lately about the hidden stems interactions when a storage opens or closes.
Will post how I see it with the idea we can comment on that as there is difference or another approach.

Lets say we have Xu and Wei.
So that can be:

X  X  Xu Wei

Now, Xu hidden stems(modern ones) > Xin, Ding,Wu
Wei hidden stems > Ding,Ji, Yi

Xin clashes Yi opening both I guess.
Then we have Ding being free from that x2, so we have inflow of fire.

However, as Wei is storage of wood, its suppose to bring inflow of wood as well as it should be Store and Open in this case.
However, the only wood in it(Yi) should be busy clashing Xin, bringing the question, if there is inflow of wood, where is it coming from...

The way I work with it is that on the branch function, Wei turns to storage so the Wood comes from Wei's function, not from the hidden stems. Meaning there is inflow of wood not connected to its hidden stems. However, another idea can be that in Wei and Xu interaction both may be open, but there is only inflow of fire(as the wood is busy).

In the same sense lets say we have Wei and Chou.
Now, everything in their hidden stems is clashing each other. Does that suggest that the Metal and Wood that come out of them isn't available to use... I assume it is, as it comes from their function again and not from the hidden stems.

Thanks, so yea, this seems to be the way I was using it, we look at what the Tomb represents(so Wood for Wei etc.).
However, the question of what happens with the hidden stems at the same time is still there.

I remember this very good post done by The-Monk about self-combining pillar...
http://fivearts.org/index.php?topic=669.msg4005#msg4005
(...) Pig is Hai Water. The Yang Jia Wood is supported and well looked after by the water. This is like the a guy who is interested in a girl, and the guys family supports the guys interest in pursuiing this particular girl.

The Snake, is Bing Fire. The Yang Metal, has every intention to combine with the Yin Wood in the Stem, cannot for whatever the reason Bing Fire wants. This is like Romeo and Juliet In short, Bing Fire is the Family Fued (doesn't matter which side really; but assume male side). The Yang Metal is Romeo, and Yin Wood is Juliet. But neither can go against the say of the most important (and strongest) influence: Bing Fire, which does not let Geng Yang Metal do anything it doesn't want. Therefore, it cannot combine like the rest despite it's desire to do so.

All together:
Ji (Yin Earth) over Hai (Pig Water): Ji Earth with Jia Wood. Wood is strong as it is supported by the main element, not an issue.
Ding (Yin Fire) over Hai (Pig Water): Ding Fire with Ren Water. Water is strong as it is the main element itself, not an issue.
Yi (Yin Wood) over Si (Snake Fire): Yi Wood wants to combine with Geng Metal. Metal is weak and subdued within by Fire, unable to combine.
Xin (Yin Metal) over Si (Snake Fire): Xin Metal wants to combine with Bing Fire. Fire is strong as it is the main element itself, not an issue.
Gui (Yin Water) over Si (Snake Fire): Gui Water wants to combine with Wu Earth. Earth is strong as it is supported by the main element, not an issue.

In short, it still combines (because it has every intention to do so). But also doesn't (because it can't get past Bing Fire who's in the way).

Please continue the researches about HHSs, thank you

Best Regards

 :)

Does this parity (cardinal EB) open the tomb of Wei?

We have examples with stuff like that in the other forum, it will open it as what the Tomb contains is clashed beside it.
