Sacrar, I have noted that hexagram 1 was raised on Nov 13 and hexagram 2 on Nov 14.  Were they raised on different days?  What time did you raise the hexagrams? 

Interesting: there are possibilities of Three Combination (San He) in both hexagrams.

Are you still with the same teacher for this project?

Yes there are 2 San He  .. one for each  Hexagram. .
On the 1st Hexagram concerning the December  ... water Zi  San He is formed  .. with the three components connected by Ti Chen Self + Other Shen Officer line + Host Zi ( now fushen) Parent 1st line and in Azure Dragon == when Zi month arrive then will be out of fushen and will be prosperous .
Again Zi can clash Wu 3rd  fire Child line and produce Self  Chen asset line... 

But isn't the same with 2nd Hexagram (May -June) that even if can form Mao wood San He.. in it isn't include the Ti Self line  .. rather wood San he damage indirectly Ti self Parent 5th line by producing more fire that melt metal ..!!
Ti self Shen only bound Liu He with Si fire 6th produced line coming with tortoise and add much burdent on your studies ..!! (notice : Se branch is on May month )..

I guess after all that you have many chances on make it with the first Hexagram than 2nd one ..
Decisions is yours anyway ..!!

Interesting: there are possibilities of Three Combination (San He) in both hexagrams.

Let me just analyze the first hexagram.

1. Chen and Shen are moving lines.  Zi gets out of hidden mode.  But there is another rule that prevents the Chen-Shen-Zi Water San He to be formed. 
2. Since San He is not formed, Shen is broken by the Day, which is the Others line.  This is not auspicious when you are aiming for the Others line. 
3. Zi as Yong Shen is empty (Kong Wang), and it comes with Qing Long (Dragon).  Your confidence of finishing this project is low because (1) you are still at an early stage of this project, or (2) this project is an unchartered territory for you.
4. But actually Zi is strong in Hai month (both are Water), so with the right preparation work, you can be successful.
5. Your Self line in this hexagram is weak by both Month and Day.  This is another negative sign. 
6. But Self line changes to Si, and Si Fire produces Earth Self line.  Si combines with the broken Shen. 
7. Si means May, so in approx. May you can wrap the project up with better results.

The second hexagram is not really necessary because
1) information that you need to know about auspiciousness of May-June is contained in the first hexagram
2) there is no change between December project and May-June project: same project, same teacher, same university, and same student

If we look at the second hexagram anyway:
- Officer represents your ranking, exam luck, or the university's regulations (with regard to the project)
- Which Officer line is the most relevant for you, since there are many of them in the hexagram?  There are rules to determine which one, and in this hexagram it's the Sixth line Xu Earth.
- Xu moves to be strengthened by Si Fire, and Xu moves to produce Self line
- Again Si indicates the timeline of around May.  And this Si Fire combines with you (Self line).  This is called Liu He (Six Combinations).
