I’m yang metal (see chart below). I work in finance role. Below are my bosses’ chart. May I know which are my best career 10 year luck decades, and what should I look out for when dealing with this boss? Do we work well together?

Your chart is either a weak chart or output follower.
I guess weak or follower type can be measured from decade luck, even without birth hour. If you feel that life is difficult all this time, then you're an output follower... because your decade luck looks mostly unfavorable for output type but fairly good for weak type.
Either type, I think the relationship will be complicated. When combined together, both charts will form "3 fire punishment" and it will punish the metal in your boss chart.

Hi, there’s fire combination in my chart. I attached both 2 charts without birth hour which are my bosses birth date without hour. Even both are complicated? In what sense?
-
Your boss chart has strong water element. This is bad if your chart is output follower type.
Furthermore, it will form 3 fire punishment when combined/interact with your chart. This fire will punish metal in your boss chart and run into conflict with his water pillar.
Do you like each other or there's a mutual hate?

I like my direct boss who is that “gui mao” chart. It doesn’t look like a strong water chart. The other geng shen chart is someone i might have more chances to work with. Are you referring to that geng shen chart?
What is a output follower chart?
-
Sorry, I confused myself with 3 different charts.
Follower chart is basically a very weak chart that likes opposing elements more than supporting elements.
If both of you like to work with each other, I guess his chart (Gui Mao DM) is indeed an output follower because he's attracted to fire combo in your chart (fire is his wealth).
Your chart, Geng Xu DM, has a triangular fire combo but it doesn't transform. So I think you remain a fairly strong DM and your chart is attracted to wood in Gui Mao DM chart (wood is your wealth).
Geng Shen DM is also a possible output follower due to water/output from Si-Shen combo. But when interacting with your chart, there is a fire punishment. What will be punished? Metal.
As an output follower, he will like wealth element the most (wood). But your wood is combined into fire and fire is his DO/7K. So, you may come across as bigger and more superior to him. Aside from the punishment, his water and your fire will clash with each other unless wood is present as a bridge (your direct boss, who has a lot of wood energy in his chart).
Is there any worry at all? Do you sense impending trouble or something?
-
Hi coldpillow, I truly appreciate your effort, diligent contribution and useful insights for the chart reading requests. They are helpful for the chart owners!

Hi coldpillow, appreciate your time and effort in helping me to understand. As of now, my boss handles the dealings with the other person (Geng Shen). I just started working with this group of people. So when I first saw the Gui Mao chart, i thought “Mao” is considered my peach blossom star, which probably is the reason why we get along ok. And I thought I have to be cautious against those people with Zi, cos there’s a clash with my chart. So that’s why I wanted to understand more.
For the 10 years decade luck, how do I interpret them? I saw the current decade luck (Jia Xu) clashing with my month pillar (Wu Yin), possibly impacting the tiger. what implication does it have?
Additionally, when does interaction of fire and water be seen as not a bad thing?
How do you come to the conclusion that the fire combination doesn’t form even though its there? :) appreciate your guidance
-
Additionally, when does interaction of fire and water be seen as not a bad thing?
When wood is present to serve as a bridge. Without it, water and fire will use their energy to attack each other.
Combination is not the same as transformation. If the original elements at the branch transformed into fire, your chart is no longer strong. It becomes a fake power follower chart instead.
Fire combo in your chart doesn't lead to transformation because there's no support for fire at month stem. If the month stem is Bing/Ding, I think it's enough to allow transformation.
Jia Xu LP should be favorable. Yin-Xu will combine with Wu to produce fire. Not clash.

I thought yin being wood clash with xu (earth element), how does this 2 create fire with 戊 (earth) in the heavenly stem?what is the consequence if fire is produced?if combine, does it mean the month pillar collapse? Or wood being my wealth element is affected? If fire is produced, i’m busier with work since fire is my DO? my chart doesn’t show a senior management potential right?
Are u able to share some insights on the next few luck decades (癸酉、壬申、辛未)?
Does my chart need water?
-
Actually, I would like to limit my answer to the original question (relationship with bosses).
I thought yin being wood clash with xu (earth element), how does this 2 create fire with 戊 (earth) in the heavenly stem?
I mean Wu horse, not Wu earth for Yin-Wu-Xu combo.
If fire is produced, then your chart is hotter and therefore earth is strengthened. Fire means that you're competent and you have good luck with anything related to authority and leadership.
I guess the pinnacle of your life is Ren Shen, when yang metal energy is the strongest.

That’s what I thought initially. 寅午戌 fire combination. But it doesn’t form in my chart due to the lack of support in month pillar right? So is there any impact such that my tiger (寅) in the chart is clashed by the decade luck, 甲 戌 jia xu?
-
So is there any impact such that my tiger (寅) in the chart is clashed by the decade luck, 甲 戌 jia xu?
The combination occurs, but not transformation.
Xu in the decade luck will join together with tiger and horse to form a fire combo.

I got it now, was confused on the combination and transformation. Besides the decade luck, my chart also has the dog (xu)? Is it too much fire in my chart? You mentioned earlier that ren shen decade luck is good cos yang metal energy is stronger, how do we tell when its too much rob wealth (aka bad)? Ren shen decade is quite late :(

Fire is strong, but you are protected by earth. Unlike yin metal that prefers water, yang metal prefers fire.
Yes, the best stuff comes late for you. If you're into ZWDS, it's also quite apparent.
You don't have excessive rob wealth problem, because your self-element has no root.

Got it! 1 more clarification on the theory, in the case when wealth (tiger) is combined away, normally what does it mean?
I’m trying to adapt bazi to read my chart, its already quite difficult. Zwds looks more complicated.
-
Got it! 1 more clarification on the theory, in the case when wealth (tiger) is combined away, normally what does it mean?
I guess you will have more authority than wealth. That authority is related to your work or spouse.
-
@coldpillow ,
Really cool how you did that analysis so smoothly.
Lots for me to learn from :)

Thanks. What should I be doing more/improve on in the coming decades?
-
@lot ,
Are u able to share some insights on the next few luck decades (癸酉, 壬申, 辛未)?
What should I be doing more/improve on in the coming decades?
In 癸酉, 癸 clash away your 丁, which is your career luck.
And 癸 is your output/expressiveness, so you'd doing things that challenges authority and management.
Could be speaking out more, arguing, or out-shining through work.
Whichever the case, work experience will take a bit of a beating, so be prepared for that.
酉 is unharmed in the branch, so branch-wise is ok.
In 壬申, both stem and branch are ok.
Yang water 壬 does not directly attack Yin fire 丁, so it is still fine.
申 in branch is healthy.
辛未 is bad for career again, this time in the branch, where 未 combines with 午 and takes away both energies.
未 earth is support element, 午 fire is career luck, so I would guess there might be some bad luck at work coupled with loss of reputation, status and/or rank.
庚午, if you are still working, career luck is strong, but do take note of any point in time where something clash the 午 or 庚.
Because it will one shot injure all the 午 or all the 庚 in the chart, and the effect is amplified.
Especially the 庚 since it is your Day Master.
It will be feel especially bad in all things during the period where Day Master is injured.
So like what @coldpillow had said, 壬申 is the better upcoming pillar.
---
As to how to improve, I usually approach from Ten Gods / personality perspective.
Your chart is heavy on earth support elements, suggesting you tend to easily receive help.
You are healthy on fire career luck, especially when it is not attacking you Day Master directly due to the bridge protection of your earth as @coldpillow has mentioned, and itself is not harmed due to absence of water.
Friend luck (metal) and Wealth luck (wood) is generally ok.
The only lacking thing is water output luck, which suggest you aren't one who easily showcase/bring out your talents.
Despite that, overall I think your natal chart is fine because you have robust enough career luck coupled with strong support.
You will need to take note when water comes into the picture from decade or annual luck pillars, and see if it injures the fire in your natal chart, like in the case of 癸酉.
癸酉 paints a picture to me whereby you might be more seasoned at work by then, and hence more daringly expressive, which creates some conflict with superiors.
Nothing wrong with that in reality.
Just take note to use your expressiveness sparingly, wisely, at the right time, and you should come out unscathed.
my chart doesn’t show a senior management potential right?
Actually I think you do have that potential, given your healthy career luck growing your strong support luck.
This suggest to me your career growth will lead to rise in reputation/rank/status, baring the influence of decade and annual luck.
For accuracy, you have to consider their influences, like those mentioned above.

癸酉- how do u see that 酉is unharmed?
庚午-I’ll be like 73years old.. 😭
what is the highlight of this decade 甲戌 apart from wealth being combined away? I actually hope that I can work all the way and retire in this current company.
From what u said about 癸酉,means likely got periods of unemployment? Cannot imagine got period of unemployment.
What are the issues that will surface when daymaster 庚is harmed?
-
@lot ,
Ok, disclaimer: I use the Bazi school of Five Elements interactions, which looks purely at how the elements plays out at a given time period.
It can feel quite different from how traditional Bazi does its calculations.
It's your choice of following which Bazi logic you want, or all, or none.
But areas where it overlaps and reinforce @coldpillow 's reading, then the likelihood is stronger.
On with the questions:
癸酉- how do u see that 酉is unharmed?
Branch row resultant flow for Yang elements = 寅 wood grows 午 fire grows 戌 earth = smooth flow, no clash
Branch row resultant flow for Yin elements = 丑 earth grows 酉 metal = smooth flow, no clash
The elements will always choose flow over clashing, so they will attempt to form the longest flow chain possible and only end with a clash when there is no other choice left.
庚午-I’ll be like 73years old.. 😭
Haha...well...you said coming decades with no termination, so I just gave as far as my charting app shows.
what is the highlight of this decade 甲戌 apart from wealth being combined away? I actually hope that I can work all the way and retire in this current company.
For me, wealth 甲 is lost because in the stem row, 戊 grows 庚 and clashes away 甲.
For 2023, when you bring in the 癸卯 annual pillar, 癸 clashes 丁 fire, career hurt by expression.
卯 forms a combination with the 2x 戌, losing wealth and 2x support luck.
I can do year by year analysis, but is very tedious, unless you want to just home in on one aspect of your life.
But I can tell you every year there is something to be wary of, in different aspects of life, but the same goes for everybody.
No specific risk to losing your job though - you will experience ups and downs throughout the years, which is very normal.
From what u said about 癸酉,means likely got periods of unemployment? Cannot imagine got period of unemployment.
No, a bad career period does not necessarily means jobless, unless you put in enough effort to fulfill the bad luck to its fullest extent.
Just like a having bad day at work could mean getting scolded by the boss, not necessarily getting fired.
But you can also argue with your boss to the bitter end, which leads to termination.
Both are bad career luck days.
What are the issues that will surface when daymaster 庚is harmed?
Ill fortune can come from any front when day master is harmed.
If employed, likely it will come for work.

Lesser support luck means work aspect or referring to 印,health aspect?
-
@lot ,
Yes, 印-types of stuffs. But I think you are familiar with it, so you know it can cover a very large scope, from mother to health to education to reputation.
It still can relate to work, like the help itself from colleagues, or mentor figures, rank / status / reputation.
Which one is it exactly? Sometimes it is difficult for us to tell so specifically and accurately. You will also need to do a bit of mapping between what is advised, to the actual happenings in your life, in order to make full use of the readings.

Lots of theories for me to learn. Thanks for the guidance. If i want to see which year is better for me to plan for child, how should I go about assessing? Do I see if the zodiac year forms a combination with my bazi and avoid those zodiacs that clash with my horse year?

Hi @lot ,
I use Ten Gods system to explain.
For ladies, the output element represent luck with offspring.
For males, it will be the officer element.
As metal Day Master, your output element is water.
So I would be looking out for 壬 and/or 癸 coming in the stems, 子 and/or 亥 coming in the branches.
However, so happen you have an unfortunate chart of losing those 4 water elements when they appear in your decade and annual pillars.
Because your chart natively contains elements that will combine with those 4.
丁 will bond with 壬, 戊 will bond with 癸, 子 will bond with 丑, 寅 will bond with 亥.
When combined, their energies are inaccessible to you.
One way is to have the exact same element appearing on both decade and annual pillar simultaneously, i.e. 癸癸.
So when one is bonded, the other is still accessible.
However, for that to happen for you is only 2033 (癸癸) or 2052 (壬壬), both which are not ideal in terms of age.
The next method, which I think is the best method, is to attempt to conceive during months where one or more of these 4 water elements appears. In addition, they should not be harmed by the element on the day of trying (i.e. an earth day that clashes away the water), and not combined away by the day of trying or the annual pillar.
Meaning to say, in 2027 (丁), it will be tough on a 壬 month since 丁壬 combines.
In 2028 (戊), it will be tough on a 癸 month since 戊癸 combines.
---
I understand it may be discouraging to hear that your chart seems to act against your wish to conceive, but the chance is still good if you time the months well as per above advice.
I speak from personal experience as my spouse also has very poor output luck, taking into account decade and annual luck, but still managed to conceive twice.
And after I learnt Bazi and went back to check, the conception really happened during months/day where output elements were present and healthy.
So, good luck!
-
Hi Lot,
I will assume you have a partner / husband. Quick question...
Who is more interested in having a child? Your partner or you?
Thanks,

Hi Ren, my husband is more focused on family planning. Nonetheless, there’s no rush since its also up to my discretion after other aspects like health fitness level/job is stabilised.

I saw you mentioned in another thread that the element of the company/industry that we are working can strengthen our bazi? Currently, I’m in this company that manufactures their own healthcare products. So this does replace the wealth element (Tiger- month pillar) that was combined away? If the company logo is representative of a cat/tiger, does it also enhance?
-
Ehhh...the animals are just symbolic representation of the elements as it changes through the seasons.
I don't think putting an image of a tiger helps.
If you want to cover for the 寅 wood, I'd rather you just get some wood-based Feng Shui items, like a potted plant to decorate your house/office desk.
Also, it is hard to tell what element an industry is specifically.
Healthcare can be considered wood.
A manufacturing line can be seen as water, because there is a flow of materials.
A factory floor filled machines can be seen as metal.
If heat is required for the process and you are working close to it, should it be considered as fire as well?
If the ingredients contains minerals harvested from the ground, would it be earth too?
Basically, I am saying that modern industries are a mixed of different elements.
If you want a specific elemental influence from it, you need to be sure the job is strongly aligned with that element.
For example, if you are a healthcare worker, then I would say it is more likely aligned nicely to wood due to the nature of the job.
-
So this does replace the wealth element (Tiger- month pillar) that was combined away? If the company logo is representative of a cat/tiger, does it also enhance?
Your tiger is still there. It's just a combo not transformation. I'm not sure about the logo, I guess it's related more to Feng Shui.

Opps. I keep having the impression that combine away means the element is no longer there as it forms a new one.

Hi @lot ,
With 5-element style:
- Stem row: 戊 earth grows 庚 metal, 庚 metal clashes 2x 甲 wood. 戊 (support) as the start of the flow chain, is over-drained to cope with 2x 甲 (wealth) down the line. 丁 fire (officer) is left alone unharmed.
- Branch row: 寅 wood grows 午 fire, 午 fire grows 2x 戌 earth + 1x 辰 earth +1x 丑 earth. 寅 wood (wealth) is extremely drained to cope with the 4 earths (support) down the flow. 午 fire (officer) remains ok as a conduit.
So wealth and support is injured and drained, career/spouse luck is ok.
Wealth: can be loss of money (especially indirect money gains), or inability to achieve your goals.
Support: can be the role you play at work is too overwhelming (reputation, status too big to chew), or challenges with mother/parents.

Thanks. For my husband, the unfavourable elements are water and fire elements who is an indication that his health is impacted right?

Hi @lot ,
I'm not sure about having water and fire as unfavorable elements equates to poor health.
I can say though, for 2022 and 2023, there is clash of earth over water in the stems, and clash of wood over earth in the branches.
Therefore, water is injured, earth is injured and wood perhaps kind of drained from clashing earth.
According to TCM 5 organs:
- Earth = primary is digestive system, secondary is mouth and muscle
- Water = primary is kidney and/or urinary bladder, secondary is ears and bones
- Wood = primary is liver and/or gallbladder, secondary is eye and tendon
Is your husband suffering ailments in any of the above areas?

He has gout issues, and neuro issue (gets the episodes when there’s triggers, not frequent and didn’t happen in these 2 years)

Hi @lot ,
I think gout could be related to the injured water, especially if it happened over the past 2 years.
Since there is a urinary and bones association.
2022 - 戊 earth clash 壬 water
2023 - 戊 earth combines with 癸 water
Neuro could be linked to fire, since it also affects the nervous system.
In the past decade luck, there is an 午 fire in the branch.
While the 午 fire doesn't come under attack, it is still drained having to feed 2x 辰 earth for years.
The 午 fire is gone this decade luck, so perhaps the symptoms has gone away.
If this logical association is correct, then beware of 2026 where fire is very strong (stem + branch), but yet your chart has even more earth to feed.
2027 too, but to a lesser extent.

Ok thanks. I noticed my boss (gui mao chart attached previously) tend to share the things that happened lately (regarding job review) with another colleague. It seems that she probably thinks I’m against her on the decision and even tell the other staff to quickly attain qualifications to justify his promotion in the future. Is it apparent in the chart that it would be hard for her to promote me in the future?

Don't think can tell that specifically from Bazi chart.
But for yourself, there is upcoming career luck (fire) as early as Feb and Mar 2024 (Bing and Ding months).
So if you are in standing for promotion, and I guess it is appraisal season now at the end of 2023, then there is some chance early next year.
Otherwise May and June are the next fiery months too look out for.
Beyond 2024, 2025 has some chance with a Si in the branch, and 2026 is a full yang fire pillar ready for you to reap the career benefits.
If you really want that specific answer to your question, I think the suitable system is Qi Men Dun Jia.
Unfortunately, I'm not trained so I can't help you with that.
