Yes, the beginning of this year is really horrible. Let me tell you why. I am a partner with another business person.[45 years already]. In fact, about 15 to 20 years ago, I wanted to leave my partner and start on my own. But because of a partnership being better than a sole proprietorship, I stick on with him. Maybe out of continuity, I am the type that does not like to change. This year, suddenly my partner through his sister in law said he wanted the husband [retired old man and a non professional] of his sister in law to join the firm. In fact, my partner had a stroke 3 and a half year ago, and during this time, I assisted him to run the firm. He does not go to the office to work or meet clients. Without me, he cannot carry on as he is unable to talk or use his hand to write. So during this 3 1/2 year, I help him to earn money but his sister in law [old lady not a professional just a mere clerk] in the firm wants to own and control the firm like it belongs to her and her family. Without me, the partnership cannot exist as it is a professional firm [requires licence to exist]. So I said dissolve and the sister in law now is trying to "KILL" me or destroy me by telling/doing things that hurt or belittle me. She forgot that I am the one who enabled her to carry on earning a living during the past 3 1/2 years. I did not benefit from helping. In fact, I have to settle all problems and messes she created. Now my wife, not working with me, told me that this is the luckiest thing that can happen to me during the past 45 years. Now I am starting my own sole proprietorship and the new firm will commence within a month or two.
I am old already and I am also worried that I may knock out or have a stroke also. I signed a two year office lease and I pray that I can carry on through the coming two years. I like to work until I die.
