The problem with this and the reason people carefully use it, is because they can have many meanings.
Kun above Zhen changing to Li. Lets assume the asker is Zhen. That is not how its usually done, but to test the Lower Trigram as Self idea. Lets just use most popular Images and assume all will always be there.
We can say:
'The environment was stuck(Kun), but you had a great impulse to move forward, that impulse, however, will change to Li and just feed that environment instead of helping you.'
'Back at December(Hexagram shows december) you decided to start moving forward in the systems and Zhen changing to Li suggests you are now ready to support the environment(paying for course) to do it!'
'You wanted to guide your mothers path(kun restricted by Zhen), so you decided to learn systems, now as you move to fire in fire season you can finally do it!'
'In your house(Kun), you as the oldest son(Zhen) decided to learn the systems to support the household, now moving to Li that suggests happiness and expansion, but since environment is still more produced by you(Li producing Kun) it hasn't actually happened.'
Are they all true?
We can ask, but I can already tell you they won't be all true, because the Trigrams carry endless amounts of Images. Even if we are close this time, we can also say that:
'You bought a cow(Kun) and you want to get as much milk as possible in any ways(Zhen controlling Kun), now as you move to Li you felt bad for it and started being nicer to your cow(Li producing Kun) influenced by the Chinese Systems you learn during all this.'
Is this likely to be true?Its as valid as the rest as far as Images go...
Now lets assume he is Kun, as that is how its usually done(no changing lines trigram as Self).
'You haven't make much movement forward in the systems(Kun), while the environment is starting to move full of new ideas(Zhen), that will support you as it moves to fire Li and it will make learning much easier.'
'You are interested in the systems influenced by a land property you bought(Kun as Wealth), now the systems around didn't help you much in how to use it(Zhen controling Kun), but that will change and they will start to support it with new knowledge etc.'
I can go on and on and on... And if we decide all of them have all these meaning every single time we will soon discover that just isn't the case and none of us will be learning the systems if we can provide some of the Images and it will always fit.
So the idea is there, but you can't do it with intuition. You need to know the structure within the system so you know what of all these is actually present and what isn't. The rest may be there... May not be. But it will be very unreliable to use.
