Lower trigram always represents who enquiry (?)
« on: June 26, 2022, 09:02:32 PM »
In one of my Liu Yao books it is said that the lower trigram always represents the querent (or all about the Self/Subject) and the upper trigram represents the object being queried (everything external, Other aspects), independently of the position of the Subject/Other line.

All this in case you want to make an integral analysis, i.e. Liu Yao + additionally Mei Hua aspects.

However, I do not believe that this is always the case and is not an immovable rule. I have seen some cases here in the forum where in sports matters where there are two clearly identified parties (Team A vs Team B), is usually talked about "A territory or Self territory" or "B territory or Other territory" depending on which position of the six lines the Self/Other line appears, and it seems to work. I will try to look for some example in my database...

What do you think about this? do you know what the classic books like wild crane or golden strategy say about it?

This is a soccer match.

Real Madrid Vs Sevilla.

- Setting:
Self: RM
Other: Sevilla

- Outcome: RM won.

Self line is in the outer trigram in the 4th line and is a active line. The Shen Officer carrying the branch of the day is in the outer trigram, in Self territory.

If additionally we see Mei Hua aspects, upper trigram of metal is prosperous by Month and Day and controls the lower trigram of wood which has little Qi.

Quote
It is the book in Spanish that I have "Jing Fang I" (Maite foulquie-Shu Yuan Chen)) and I suppose it is based on the classics.

I have a hard copy of the book. As I don't read Spanish, I haven't made headway into it.

Can you give your review / summary of the book?

Thanks,

ren
