When I first started learning from my first Sifu, at the beginning, as he was teaching me hard skills, he also taught me soft skills.
Soft skills are very important in the skill-set of a Metaphysics consultant.
When I taught a course in Singapore, I only found out that most Fengshui academies either do not teach important soft skills or maybe just touch superficially on certain types of soft skills,
Here is how it happened:
Many years ago, I taught a course of GuiGuZi card divination in Singapore, and, at the beginning of the course, I talked about the important soft skills that a diviner should possess.
During the tea break two Singaporean students came up to me and told me that they were never taught these soft skills by the fengshui school that they been to.
This surprised me a bit because I thought that all fengshui masters who teach fengshui, bazi or divination, should have the knowledge of soft skills and should impart these skills to his/her students.
Anyway, fast forward to when I started to teach professionally. In every course that I teach, I would mention these soft skills -- that all metaphysicians should have.
What my first Sifu taught me was:
A Chinese metaphysician should have integrity, be honest, have ethics and morals, and must use his skills to help others.
That is why, until today, I followed his advice, and had done many Pro Bono jobs, especially for the poor and the unfortunate.
Having said all these, may I make another post -- a teaching on the type of soft skill mentioned here, and was taught to my students.
thank you.
