Allowing beginners to practice
Wild Crane highlighted that weather prediction was a good place for beginners to practice Six Lines:
初學難知。以人事而試者。取驗不速。以天時而試者。目前見效。天時之陰晴。
Beginners find [the art] difficult to understand. [If] we take people matters to test, getting a verification [i.e. confirmed outcome] is not fast. Take weather for testing, soon can see efficacy. Weather [will be either] overcast or sunny.
