FYI. My translation of the case study using the 1691AD version of Zengshan Buyi (ZSBY) (see ZSBY-9 pdf in
https://fivearts.org/index.php?topic=2011.0):

Example: Si month, Geng Chen day. Divining about buying a house. Obtained

斷曰。世爻卯木。應爻亥水。乃是世應相生。必成之象。但嫌亥臨月破。不能生世。
Interpreting, I said: ?Subject line is Mao wood, Object line is Hai water. It means Subject, is by Object, produced. Will succeed is the image. But dislike Hai at Month Breaker, unable to produce Subject.?
況間爻二重丑土發動。乃成群之小人從中破阻。事已壞矣。難許成交。
?Moreover, in-between lines, two Chou earth moving. It is a large group of petty people from within, breaking and damaging. Matter already spoiled! Difficult to predict completion of [purchase] contract.?
彼曰。樣銀業已付訖。因彼用人。與說合之人。多索偏費未滿其慾。故伊悔言不賣。
Person said: ?Deposit of silver already paid. Because my servant said intermediaries had demanded more side fees, I did not satisfy such a wish. So, [seller] regretted to say that he would not sell.?
予曰。目下便多許之。亦無成也。應爻破而被剋。難得二家成就。
I said: ?At present, even if you offer more, yet without success. Object line is broken and countered. Difficult to obtain both sides agreement.?
後果不成。退囘樣銀。
Later result: [Sale] did not complete. [Seller] returned the deposit of silver.
此公大怒。煩當道親友。徃彼理曰。前日因何所見。引我瞧看內室。今又因何所見。退還樣銀。諸親徃彼。盡叱其非。彼亦甘受。
The person [inquiring] was furious, bothering, on the road, relatives and friends. [Servant] went to him to explain what, on prior day, he saw: ?[They] took me to look at the inner rooms. Now also because what was seen, I returned for the deposit of silver.? Various relatives went to him. All scolded him for being wrong, which he willingly accepted.
予詳卦中之間爻。二重土動。
I examined in detail the gua in-between lines of two earth moving:
近應爻者。卽如賣主身邊之人也。剋應爻者。破阻賣宅不成而無財也。
[The line] near to Object line, is like the seller having people around. Countering Object line, they break and hinder. So, sale of house not successful. This, without [gaining] wealth.
近世爻之土。亦剋應爻者。卽是買主央去之親友。眾叱其非。
[That line] near to Subject line, the earth, also countering Object line. Indeed being buyer s pleading relatives and friends. All scolded him for being wrong.
凡遇間爻動者。得日月沖剋可解。
When meeting in-between lines moving, obtaining day or month clash or counter, the situation can be resolved.
