Thank you both very much for looking into this Bazi.
smsek, thank you for your analysis.
When you say:
This Bazi chart presents a fascinating study of a "Strong" Yi Wood (乙) Day Master (DM) supported by a powerful "North Directional Water Alliance" (Hai-Zi-Chou). Because the Wood is so well-nourished by water, the chart thrives on **Output (Fire)** to express talent and **Wealth (Earth)** to provide stability and results.
Would you consider the DM always having this strength - or fluctuating with the luck pillars? Does the Hai-Zi-Chou always hold it's strength, or is the water frame "weakened" when those branches are clashed or combined? In the case when Yin combines with Hai, it strengthens the DM with more wood, but what in case of the Bing-Wu fire horse clash to the Ren-Zi pillar? Do you see Ren-Zi pillar as the parents?
In the case of Yin luck pillar combining with the spouse palace, it seems like so far it's a very strong bond in relationship - but the whole 10 year period has to be lived to see if the strong bond will hold through the upcoming clashes with Wei and Shen years. I do think the the Wei year will be about making investments or money gains - perhaps in partnership with the spouse this time.
Those clash year seem to be able to "break the secret bond" between Chou-Yin branches (https://www.fengshuied.com/earthly-branch-secret-combinations).
For this DM with earth as wealth element would you consider all the earth branches favourable for opening those wealth storages? F.ex. if this DM is about to sell a property or her artwork, would it be the best timing to always choose earth months or would the whole earth year period be full of wealth luck? I'm assuming that all the earth months will be the most favourable to gain wealth-get some money/sales. For her artwork though, she did get the most attention and sell most of it during late August month in year 2022 (double Ren-Yin for year and LP) and 2023 which was Gui Mao year. Both years are water-wood and the exhibition and sales happened.
For those interested, the first one was on Aug 20th 2022;
LP REN_YIN, Yp Ren-Yin, mp Wu-Shen, dp Yi-Si.
According to bazi-calculator the month stem and all the branches carry direct wealth Wu earth. It was good visibility/exposure and good sales.
The second exhibition and very good sales was on Aug 19th 2023;
LP REN-YIN, yp Gui-Mao, mp Geng-Shen, dp Ji-You.
Strangely enough there is not much earth for this one, but strong metal. Why was this one good for sales?
The third year she exhibited three times in summer months June, July, August in year 2024 Jia-Chen with very little sales. Same for 2025 Yi-Si year, almost no art sales. But did sell a property for a good price and buy another one more expensive - so the wealth was kind of depleted or got stuck again that year.
Can you figure out and please explain why metal is also good for money for this Yi DM? Like in year 2017 sold property and this is happening during transition from Shen to You year? Property purchase offer received and accepted on Feb 3rd 2017; acc to Chinese calendar this is still Bing-Shen year and Xin-Chou month (again the Xin-Chou carries property sale) and on Xin-You day. The official final papers for the purchase when all the money and mortgages were ready were signed on March 14th 2017; acc to Chinese calendar this was Ding-You year, Gui-Mao month and Geng-Zi day. No earth at all was present when receiving the money from this sale. Why???
I find that very curious. Is that because the Bazi is lacking metal and therefore metal is favourable for the chart as a whole?
Also, would you consider the chart being able to transform the Ding-Ren into wood as well?
You asked:
Since this DM is transitioning from a period of artistic discovery into a more "wealth-clashing" phase, are they looking to pivot back into full-time real estate management, or are they hoping to integrate the artwork into their property ventures?
Well, the answer to this is that she is wanting to balance and carry on both. To be an artist and have the property or stocks on the side. The real estate has brought the most wealth into her life in the recent years and that has made it possible for her to be secure about creating her art. She wants to carry on creating art and sell it as well as dealing with her money to invest in stock and property.
===>This is a sophisticated deep dive. You?ve touched on the "mechanics" of Bazi that often separate a casual enthusiast from a serious practitioner?specifically why "wealth elements" don't always equal "wealth events."
Here is a breakdown of those specific structural questions regarding this Yi Wood (乙) chart:
### 1. Strength and the "Water Frame" (Hai-Zi-Chou)
A Day Master?s strength is never a static number; it?s a dynamic equilibrium.
* **The Baseline:** This DM starts "Strong" because she is born in the transition from Summer to Autumn (Wei month), but the branches are saturated with the **North Directional Water Alliance**.
* **Fluctuation:** Luck Pillars (LP) act like the "Climate," while Annual Pillars are the "Weather." When the **Ren Yin** LP arrived, the **Yin (Tiger)** combined with the **Hai (Pig)** in the hour pillar. This "diverts" the Water toward Wood. While it technically keeps the DM strong, it changes the *quality* of that strength from "Supported" (Water/Resources) to "Active" (Wood/Competitors/Peers).
* **Weakening the Frame:** Yes, the Water Frame is "shaken" by the **Bing-Wu** (2026) clash. The **Wu (Horse)** clashes the **Zi (Rat)**. In Bazi, when the "Root" (Year pillar) is clashed, it often signifies a move, a change in social status, or a shift in the "ancestral" foundation.
### 2. The Year Pillar and Parents
Traditionally:
* **Year Pillar (Ren-Zi):** Represents grandparents, ancestors, and the "outside world" (market/public).
* **Month Pillar (Ding-Wei):** Represents parents and siblings.
* **The Clash:** The **Bing-Wu** clash to the **Ren-Zi** year pillar is more likely to manifest as a "clash with the public" or a sudden change in her reputation/marketability as an artist. Since the Year is the "market," a clash there can actually be the "spark" that leads to a sale?it's a sudden movement of assets.
### 3. Why Metal (Xin/You) Brings Money
This is the "Golden Key" to this chart. Why did 2017 (Metal year) and the Metal months of 2022/2023 bring sales when Earth (the wealth element) was absent?
* **The "Scissor" Effect:** A strong Yi Wood (especially one supported by so much water) can become "overgrown" or "drifting." Metal (**Officer/7 Killings**) acts as the garden shears. It gives the Wood **shape and value**.
* **Status = Sales:** For an artist, Metal represents the "Direct Officer" (Recognition) and "7 Killings" (Authority/Fame). People don't buy art just because it's Earth (money); they buy it because the artist has "Metal" (Status/Prestige).
* **2017 (Ding You):** The **You (Rooster)** combined with the **Chou** in the spouse palace to create a "Metal Frame." This didn't "make" money; it "closed" the deal. Metal provides the structure (contracts, signatures, finality) that Earth (the raw asset) lacks.
### 4. The 2022/2023 Paradox
You noted that Aug 2022 (**Wu-Shen** month) and Aug 2023 (**Geng-Shen** month) were successful.
* **Wu (Yang Earth):** In 2022, the month stem was **Wu**, which is the Direct Wealth of the Yi Wood. Even if the year was Water-Wood, the *specific timing* of the exhibition hit the Wealth/Officer pocket.
* **Geng-Shen (2023):** This is pure Metal. This confirms that her "Wealth" is triggered by **Recognition (Metal)**. When she is seen as an authority or a "brand," the money follows.
### 5. The Ding-Ren Transformation
Can the **Ding-Ren** combination transform into Wood?
* **The Condition:** Transformation usually requires a "Lead Element" in the month branch (Wood) or a very strong Wood presence.
* **The Reality:** In this chart, the transformation is "Attempted but Blocked." Because she is born in the **Wei** month (Earth), the Earth "stifles" the Wood transformation. Instead, this acts as a **"Combination to Fetter."** The Ren (Resource/Mother) and Ding (Output/Talent) are "busy" with each other. This often means her creativity (Ding) is deeply tied to her internal emotions or past (Ren).
### 6. The "Secret Bond" (Chou-Yin)
The **Yin (Tiger)** from the current LP has a "Secret Combination" with the **Chou (Ox)** spouse palace.
* **The Bond:** This brings a hidden sense of stability or "unspoken understanding" in the marriage.
* **The Break:** You are correct?**Wei** years (2027) will clash the Chou, and **Shen** years (2028) will clash the Yin. This "pincer move" on the secret bond usually forces hidden issues into the light. It doesn't necessarily mean a breakup, but it means the "secret" or "quiet" nature of the support will be challenged by external demands (wealth/work).
---
**Strategic Summary:** For this DM, **Earth** is what she *owns* (Property), but **Metal** is how she *sells* (Artwork/Recognition). If she wants to sell her art this year, she should look toward the Metal months (August/September) rather than waiting solely for Earth.
Does she find that her property deals are usually "forced" by circumstances (Clashes), whereas her art sales feel more like a "reward" for her reputation (Metal)?
